      Last Jets game in 96'
Nearly a decade has passed since the Jets franchise wavied goodbye to Winnipeg and relocated to Phoenix, being renamed the Coyotes. After a long drought NHL fans in Winnipeg will once again have a home team to root for. New NHL owner Jeremy Ducaine has purchased the troubled Penguins franchise as well as the rights to the Winnipeg Jets franchise and logo. Plans are underway for the Jets to break ground on a new stadium downtown.
The building will be known simply as "Jets Arena" until deals with sponsors are finalized. "I am very excited about this opportunity to bring the Jets back to Winnipeg," said Ducaine. "The recent failing of the Pittsburgh franchise is unfortunate, but this opens up new horizons and opportunities. I wish (Mario) Lemieux the best of luck in the future and applaud him on keeping the team in Pittsburgh as long as he did.
Winnipeg--

Jeremy Ducaine, a prominent business owner who grew up in Detroit, had always
been a big Jets fan. "I grew up in Hockeytown but I never dreamed of owning an NHL team, but when the opportunity came up I just couldn't pass it."  Said Ducaine "Everything just fell into place."

The Pittsburgh franchise had been in trouble for sometime. "When you add up the lack of funds and the dilapidated arena along with their unexcusable record, I got the team for a steal." Ducaine is very optomistic about the teams future. "I have the funding and the vision to take this team far."

Ducaine did not want to continue the Penguins name, instead he opted to bring the Jets name back to the forefront. "I am really really excited to get the Jets back into the NHL. I always loved the logo and I can't wait to see those jerseys back on the ice."

The Jets will be leasing their old home, the Winnipeg Arena until their new arena is finished. "The Jets Arena may take some time to complete, but I think the Winnipeg fans will see that the new arena is well worth the weight.

"I have alot of things planned for this team," said Ducaine.  "I think hockey fans nationwide will be excited."
