City of the Ancient Ones
Heart-to-Heart Talk
At the beginning of the episode, each of the good guys passes the evening in a different fashion.  Klone is busy amusing most of the Trobbits, Poulo and Burble are tinkering around in Balkar's lab, and Blackstar and Mara are sitting in the branches of the Sagar Tree nearby talking to each other.  Before chaos erupts from the lab, the only thing we hear from Mara is "I wonder if this planet will ever get back to the peacefulness of ancient times."  But there was originally more to this scene in its first broadcast, as shown below.
Mara may be very ancient, but she is also rather curious.  Looking up at the night sky, then turning to Blackstar, she asks, "Which of those stars are you from?"
Blackstar looks up through the branches at the two moons and muses, "Good question, Mara. Which star...and how do I get back to it?"

Actually, if he's on the other side of a black hole in an alternate universe, none of those stars is Earth, but let's not get too technical here. If you've seen "Spacewrecked," you know that Blackstar had the opportunity to leave with Katana but chose to remain. However, "City of the Ancient Ones" was the first episode scripted, the second one aired and therefore takes place before "Spacewrecked." Blackstar probably hasn't been on Sagar very long and is quite homesick.
Mara isn't done yet.  Wistfully, she says, "And I wonder if this planet will ever get back to the peacefulness of ancient times."

This line was the one kept in the version available today, which is a copy videotaped directly from television back in 1981 (mine has some of the original commercials). Which leads one to ask if the entire scene was actually shot. Some people swear they remember seeing this exchange (I am one of them), but after more than 20 years and the fact that the current version is a tape of the original broadcast, it might either be wishful thinking or Filmation actually did trim the episode later.

Had the scene been kept in its entirety, we would have learned two valuable things: first, the Overlord hasn't always been around, and second, Mara is old enough that she actually remembers a time far back in the past when life was good.  We also would have gained some insight into Blackstar's feelings about Earth.
