The Automata In The Ruins

    It was the middle of the night. Elena couldn't get to sleep. Something 
was calling her, it wanted to see her.
This feeling wouldn't allow her to get to sleep, so she decided to go keep 
Brandan company as he drove the van to
their next destination. Elena quietly opened her door as not to wake Becky or 
Jim, even though a bomb couldn't wake
them. She made her way through the van, tripping and bumping into things in 
the dark. Elena then noticed Ryudo. 
He was sleeping on the couch where he originally had been. Ryudo had no shirt 
on and had only a thin blanket to 
keep him warm which fell off him. Since it was kinda cold, Ryudo curled 
himself into a tight, little ball to keep warm.
Elena laughed silently at how he looked like a sleeping house cat. Elena 
picked up the blanket off the floor and 
tucked it around the slightly shivering Ryudo. Elena ran her fingers through 
his messy hair and placed a small kiss
on his forhead and gave him a smile. Elena then made her way to Brandan who 
was bored out of his mind. "Hi, 
Brandan. What are you up to?" Brandan turned his head a bit to see her. 
"Nothing, just driving along. I was talking 
to Ryudo hours ago. He was telling me all about Skye and your little journey. 
Sounded kinda fun. But, he fell asleep 
and I got kinda bored. Say, what are you doing up? Making sure sleeping 
beauty was ok, Princess?" "Great, now I
have two people teasing me." Brandan laughed a bit. "You know we only tease 
you because we love you, and it's 
more fun than teasing Becky." "Thank you, Brandan. At least I know I'm 
loved." Brandan shifted in his seat a little.
"Um....Elena?" Elena looked at him,"Yes?" "Can you take over driving for a 
bit?" "Why, you tired?" "Me? Nah. I just
have to do something. It'll only take a minute or so." "Sure, what do you 
have to do anyway?" Brandan smiled,
"Nature Calls." "Ok, Brandan. Go visit your office, I'll hold down the fort 
while your gone." "Thanks your a life saver.
Nyaaaaaaahhhhh!" With that, Elena hops in the seat and drives while Brandan 
runs to his favorite room. Elena 
drives along and looks at the road in front of her. As she drives, she starts 
thinking about her dream. Elena wasn't
paying attention to what she was doing and her finger sliped  off the wheel 
and she beeped the horn. Elena awoke 
from her daydream with a start. Listened for a moment, therewas no sound what 
so ever. Elena sighed in relief. 
Brandan then came strolling out of the bathroom and switched with Elena 
again. "So, Elena, did I miss anything."
Elena didn't want Brandan to know she was daydreaming so she had to make 
something up. "Well......nothing really.
I just saw this little rabbit in the rode so I beeped the horn so  I wouldn't 
hit him." "Oh, at first I thought 
that was me. My bad." Elena laughs at Brandan but quickly stops because it is 
late. Elena gets up from her seat and
goes over and sits beside Ryudo on the couch. After some time, Brandan 
stopped the van. Elena looked out the window.
The only thing out there was a strange looking building. The building was 
very large, like a maze and it looked 
very old. "Brandan, why are we here? This doesn't look like a place to 
perform." Brandan got up and streched his 
arms and legs,"Well, we're not performing here. This is the Shawntalla Ruins. 
I always wanted to explore this ruin.
Since our next performance isn't for another week, I thought we could do some 
exploring. If you don't want to come,
you don't have to. Jim and Becky aren't going. Jim has to do some work on his 
computer and Becky just doesn't like
exploring ruins. I think Ryudo is coming, though. I hear there are a lot of 
scrap metal parts in this ruin. That's
one of my favorite past times, plus, it's a good way to get cash. So, you 
comin'?" "You bet, it sounds interesting."
'Maybe whatever is calling me is in that ruin,' Elena said to herself. 
Brandan walked off to his room to get some
sleep. Elena then looked at Ryudo. Elena enjoyed watching him sleep. Elena 
then turned her attention to the ruin.
Elena was so lost in thought that she didn't even  hear Ryudo lean up. Ryudo 
leaned close to Elena. He snaked his
arms around her neck and he leaned his cheek against her. Elena was a bit 
startled at first, but relaxed when she
realized it was Ryudo. "What are you doing up, Princess, looking at the 
sky,"whispered Ryudo. "Hmmm...no, I just
can't get to sleep. I just have this feeling that something is calling me. I 
know it sounds silly, but I just can't
explain it." Ryudo just looked at her,"I know what you mean. I used to get 
those feelimgs before I met you, it's 
like we were supposed to meet eachother. See, your not the only nut." 
"heh...thank you, Ryudo. We should get some 
sleep if we want to stay awake while we explore the ruin. Good night, Ryudo." 
"Good night, Elena." Ryudo watched
her go to her room and she waved to him before she closed her door. Ryudo 
laid back down and fell asleep. 
    The next morning, Ryudo's sleep was disturbed by something pushing him."I 
can't go to school, Mom, I'm sick,"
Ryudo murmured. Brandan got kinda mad at that so, he kicked Ryudo and Ryudo 
rolled off and landed on the floor 
with a big bang. Ryudo got up weakly and slowly opened his eyes and blinked 
them to awareness."Huh....wha?" Elena
walked over to him and bent down to see his face,"Come on, Sleepy-head. We 
want to get an early start exploring the
ruin. Come on, we're getting ready to leave." Ryudo got off the floor and put 
his shirt on. Elena handed him his 
backback and the started off. When the three got to the entrance, they looked 
at the carvings on the walls. The 
carving were of people and how they lived before the Battle Of Good and 
Evil."Alright, that's enough of that. Let's
get to exploring,"said an impatient Brandan. As they walked farther and 
farther, they say more carvings on the wall.
These carvings were different from the other ones. These were carvings of 
giant machines like Granasabers and others
that had never been seen or heard of. There were also ones of automatas. 
These fascinated Elena the most for some 
reason. Brandan noticed two paths coming up as he walked along."Hey guys, 
stay close and don't get lost." Elena wasn't
really paying attention to Brandan and went down the wrong path because she 
was looking at the carvings. After a while, 
Elena came to a strange room with some sort of tank in it. Elena walked up to 
the tank and looked in it. She couldn't 
really make out what was inside."It kinda looks like a person in there. Maybe 
it's a monster or something." As Elena
was feeling aroung the tank, she accidentally hit a small button and the tank 
began to glow. The tank the cracked, and
liquid and steam came out. Something fell out of the tank and fell on the 
floor. When the steam cleared, Elena looked 
at the lump on the floor and it began to move. It stood up and looked around. 
It turned around and faced Elena. It was
a very small and very young automata. He looked kinda like Tio except he had 
yellow hair. Elena stood up and walked over
to him. He looked up at Elena for a second and moved closer. Elena felt this 
strange connection to him. She put out her
hand and the automata took it. He looked at her hand in a confused way, then 
he looked at her and smiled. 
    In the other tunnel, Brandan looks behind him and notices that Elena 
wasn't there. "Hey, Ryudo, where is Elena?"
Ryudo looked behind him and paniced,"I don't know.....I...uh...thought she 
was behind me. Maybe she went down the other
tunnel." "Maybe, let's take a look." Just as Ryudo and Brandan were about to 
turn around, they hear a large crash and see
the tunnel collapse. "Oh, man, what are we gonna do?" Brandan looked 
around,"Come on, we'll go to the entrance and find
another way into that tunnel." "Then let's go already!" Ryudo and Brandan run 
through the tunnel and reach the sandy 
outside world, but hear rumblings and growls from the ruin.
    As Elena shakes had with the automata, the left wall blows up and a large 
minator monster appears through the
wall. Elena backs up until she hits the wall. The automata jumps in front and 
shields Elena. The minator lifts its 
large claw and hits the automata into the wall. But, he gets to his feet and 
makes a sound like a roar mixed with a
squeak. He throws Elena on his back and he starts to glow. Within seconds, 
the automata runs forward with such speed
and power that he pushes through the minator and crashes through the wall and 
jumps outside. The automata lowers his
feet and make a perfect landing infront of Brandan and Ryudo who are both 
stunned. Elena gets off the automata's back
and hugs him. "Your the best, thank you for saving me. What's your name?" The 
automata says nothing. "What's the matter?
You don't have one and you can't talk?" The automata shakes his head. "Well, 
let's change that. I'll call you....Flash.
You can stay with us, ok." Flash does his sqeak thing and flips in the air. 
Brandan then steps in,"Hey, who is this?
I never said he could stay with us." Elena shoots him a look,"This is Flash 
and he saved my life so if I say he stays,
he stays. GOT THAT!!!!!!!" Brandan steps back a little and nods his head. The 
newest member to join the group is the
mysterious Flash!
