A Sword of Different Paths A Grandia II and Slayers crossover By Xellos Disclaimer: In no way whatsoever do I own these characters or their worlds. I’m broke so it’d be useless suing me anyways. Authors notes: In this fic the Slayers world is on another continent opposite the Grandia II world. So everything that happens in G2 has happened, as has everything in Slayers/NEXT/TRY. Also you can assume that this occurs during the ending of G2 and right after Slayers Try. Thoughts will be in ( ), actions in * *, and anything read off of a sign or letter will be in < > -Chapter 1- The scene: Lina, a small short redheaded girl with a small bust size, and Gourry, who is in all blue and has long blonde hair, are seen walking at a mountainous area. Lina: So Gourry What are you going to do now? Gourry: Well I’m going to stay with you and be your guardian like always. Lina: Well now how do you plan to do that without a sword you numbskull! Gourry: Well I never really thought of that... Lina: Well you should have you dope!! Gourry: Hey Lina look there’s some guy over there by that rock and tree. Lina: So what’s the big deal? Gourry: What’s the big deal! He has a sword is the big deal and it looks strong and durable too! Lina: hey you’re right! and... I can feel some strong energy coming off of it... Ya know what Gourry? Since you’re in need of a sword, and that guy has a nice one, let’s steal it! Gourry: But what if he tries to fight us or something? And isn’t that wrong? Lina: Hah I betya Martina could beat up that dope, I mean look at him chanting about no need for gods anymore and people will believe in themselves. Hell I bet that he’s talking to his sword. Obviously he’s mentally unstable and he could hurt someone with that sword! It’s our duty as heroes to take that weapon from him! Gourry: Oh ok. So we’re gonna steal it right? Well if he’s unstable then wouldn’t that be picking on the weak? Lina: Gourry we pick on the weak every time we beat up some bandits, and don’t you want a new sword? Gourry: Fine so how are we going to do it? Lina: here’s the plan*whispers into Gourry‘s ear* Gourry: Ok I got it! Lina: Then let’s go! RAYWING *Lina flies into the air and drags Gourry by his long hair* *We now see Ryudo, a man with spiky black hair and some weird head ornament thingy, is burying the sword when a shadow appears over him* Ryudo: what in.... Lina: FIREBALL! *As Lina throws the fireball Ryudo jumps out of the way and pulls out another sword from his back. Lina then drops Gourry as she throws another fireball at Ryudo* Gourry: Yatta! I got the sword! Whoa it’s really light for it’s size too. Lina: Gourry do you have the sword? {Man this guy’s evaded all of my hits, he’s fast!} Gourry: Yep I’ve got it! Lina: ok then. Scare this guy away cause I don’t wanna hurt him. Gourry: Ok Lina, just tell me one thing. Lina: Yes Gourry? Gourry: Well it’s just that this sword... Lina: yes? What about the sword? Gourry: Well I like it and wanna keep it! *Lina hits Gourry on the head* Lina: YOU DOPE!!! WE came here to STEAL the SWORD!!! Do you get it!!? Gourry: Oh now I get it! Lina: Just go over there and beat up that guy! *Sigh* what a dope. Ryudo: {what in hell do these people think they’re doing!? That redhead is worse than Millenia! Oh well I guess I gotta scare ‘em away.} *Gourry charges out Ryudo with the Granasaber, while Ryudo pulls out his broadsword. Ryudo prepares to parry Gourry’s attack form the front, but Gourry jumps overhead and brings the Granasaber into a downward slash, Ryudo dodges to the left at the last second* Ryudo: {Whoa this guy’s almost as fast as Tio!! Waitaminute, there’s an opening! He left himself wide open on his side!} HYAAAAAAAAAAH!!! * Ryudo makes a side-slash at Gourry who heard Ryudo’s yell. Gourry blocks Ryudo’s strike with the Granasaber and then puts all of his effort against Ryudo’s sword, Ryudo also uses all of his strength against Gourry. Gourry: {Holy... This guys as stong as Zelgadis! There’s no way I’ll be able to out power him! God he’s strong, I think he’s making me lose my grip!} Lina: FLARE ARROW!! *the bolts of flame streaks towards Ryudo who is hit dead-on by them! Ryudo then starts to stand up} Ryudo: Ouch! That hurt you bitch! Your gonna pay for that! PURPLE LIGHTNING! * In a flash Ryudo is about to strike Lina when Gourry cuts Ryudo on the back drawing blood!* Ryudo: You people are good! I’m gonna have to play hard now! Sworn enemies you shall be defeated! *Ryudo throws hiss sword into the air where it begins to spin rapidly and a bright light aura surrounds it!* *Ryudo jumps into the air and grabs his sword* SKY DRAGON SLASH!!!!! *As the sword hits the ground a complex pattern spreads all around! All of the energy starts to reach upward.* Lina: LEVITATION! *Lina grabs Gourry by his hair and starts to float in the air, The energy reaches upward and hits Gourry* Gourry: HOT HOT HOT!!!!! *noticing the energy hitting Gourry, Lina flies higher* Lina: Hah what a weakling! You thought that could hurt me? Well guess what your in for a surprise! Ryudo: how’d you know I was going to do that!? Lina: Easy! I noticed the energy swirlign around the sword, and when i saw you jump up and grab ti, I figured you’d slam it into the ground, therefore making an explosion in the ground! Ryudo: How could you know how the Sky Dragon Slash works!!! Lina: It’s a simple spell, that anys econd rate sorcerer can pull off, and all you did was use ki focussed onto an object, instead of magic energy. Ryudo: Whatever all I know is that your causing me a lot of trouble it’s time for you to die! Lina: Yeah whatever, get in line here are at least 300 bandit gangs and monsters out to get me, but they still haven’t! Now it’s time for you to die as your simply too much trouble! *Lina drops Gourry onto a tree branch* Lina: Darkness beyond darkness, Crimson beyond blood that flows... Gourry: Oh shit! She’s not going to use a... Lina: Buried in the stream of time is where your power grows. *Ryudo noticing Gourry’s worry and the energy growing in Lina’s hands and decides he needs to do something* Ryudo: {damn that spell must be powerful! She’s gathering more energy than a Sky Dragon Slash! What can I do to block it?} Lina: In Thy great name I pledge myself to darkness! Let those who oppose us be destroyed by the power you and I possess! Ryudo: DRAGON ZAP!!!!! Lina: DRAGON SLAVE!!!!! *The two blasts collide, causing energy to go everywhere!* Lina: Heh...what a moron! I’m using a Dragon Slave! a spell made to kill dragons, while you are using a Dragon based spell, so let’s add the facts together Dragon killing spell against dragon spell= dragon zap cancelled and dragon slave hitting the boy who thought he could defeat me! Now all I gotta do is apply a bit more power and it’ll destroy this whole mountain side! Now stop your spell and leave peacefully cause there are a few villages around here, and I don’t feel like killing any innocents. So what’s your answer? Ryudo:{She’s right there are towns right nearby and if she’s not bluffing about more power than this is enough to destroy everything in a kilometer!} Fine I concede! but first call of your spell! Lina: good I knew you’d see it my way! *Lina aims her hands toward the sky and the Dragon Slave follows, making a giant explosion miles up* {as Lina’s Dragon Slave is redirected, Ryudo Pours all his energy into the Dragon Zap and aims it at Lina’s back, but it bounces harmlessly away right before hitting Lina* Lina: I thought you’d try something like that so I erected a shield right before I used the Dragon Slave. *Ryudo passes out from using all of his energy in the Dragon Zap* Lina:*sigh* Well he’s obviously trying to do the right thing might as well let him live. Gourry are you ok? Gourry: Yah I think so but what are we going to do with this guy? Lina: just let him go he’s not a bad guy. Let’s go. RAYWING! *Lina flies down to Gourry and picks him up.* The scene fades with us seeing Lina and Gourry flying away in the background. we then see Ryudo lying on the ground unconcious as the scene goes black. End chapter 1 Author’s notes: Ok this is my first fanfic as you can probably tell. I’m thinking that this is going to be a mainly comedy with no real big enemies. So if you like drama then go somewhere else. I think that this is going to be about 10 chapters and the chapters will probably get bigger later on.
