Vin_Da_DM: Previously on Warriors of Destiny: Continuing their travel with the goblin Tupper the group drew closer to the Holy City. During the trek Tewyn mysteriously vanished again. As the group reached the top of the mountain pass they got a view of the seven golden towers that made up the city. Descending into the large valley below they reached the gateway.
Vin_Da_DM: After receiving a unexplained warning about the city�s laws they were allowed into the city�s central chamber. In the middle of the multi-tiered chamber lay the Holy Temple and Tupper lead the group there. Priests of the temple eagerly accepted and paid Tupper for his supplies and after exchanging farewells the goblin left to see his family.
Vin_Da_DM: Entering the temple the Warriors met Jinana, the mysterious High Priestess of the temple and servant of the three gods, one of whom was likely Selenia. Saying she would answer what she could Jinana said little before leaving to rest. After being shown to the temple�s guest quarters the group heard a strange low roar coming from the temple's main hall...
Vin_Da_DM: As the roar�s echo fades from hearing voices sound from the hall outside.
Vin_Da_DM: $ Start
Vin_Da_DM: �At it again,� The first voice speaks calmly, the second sighs, �Best to leave it be. We should see if the travelers need anything.� The second voice sounds as the two grow closer to the door.
^Vincent^ walks up behind the group. �Where in the holy hell did ya�ll go?? Damn, been trying to find you for awhile now.�
Luna_Faline turns to the door wondering what the roar was.
^Lilly^ pokes Vincent, �Where is everyone?�
Tabris turns and looks at Vincent, �How the hell did you get in here?�
Claron: �Wonder what that roar is all about?� glancing over at Tabris.
^Vincent^: �I walked in.�
Luna_Faline: �Maybe they didn�t like Vincent and Lilly trying to get in?� I growl.
Vin_Da_DM: The doors opens and two gray robe priests enter again, the younger one on the left speaks, �Dear travelers, is there anything we can get for you?�
^Vincent^: �Hey kitty, what is there not to like about me?�
Luna_Faline: �I�m not sure there is anything to like about you yet�� I purrumble at Vincent.
^Vincent^: �Ohhhh, I like you, kitty�hurt me baby!!� he laughs.
^Lilly^ walks in behind Vincent, �Look you should acknowledge me when I�m talking to you!!!!!�
Vin_Da_DM: Eclipse eyes the priests then shakes his head, �Nothing I require. Except maybe telling us what that roar was?�
^Vincent^: �What was that Lilly? Didn�t see ya�your a little short there, runt!�
Vin_Da_DM: The second priest rubs his hands together, �Nothing to be alarmed about, I assure you��
Luna_Faline nods at the priests, �Yes, do tell us what that noise was all about. Let us decide what to be alarmed about.�
^Lilly^ rolls her eyes, �Forget it, jerk.�
^Vincent^: �Hahaha!�
Tabris: Moving over to Claron, Tabris rubs her shoulders while he looks at the priests.
^Vincent^ looks around the room.
Vin_Da_DM: The younger one whispers to older one who disappears into the hallway, �Well...it�s...oh why must I be left to explain this.�
^Lilly^ raises an eyebrow, �Explain what?�
Luna_Faline: �Because that is the way it is, so get on with it,� I purr softly.
^Vincent^ tilts his head a bit, �Explain what exactly?�
Vin_Da_DM: �I thought you would have known...maybe it�s better if you see and hear it for yourselves.� The priest steps aside and motions to the hallway.
Vin_Da_DM: �Curious�� Eclipse mumbles to himself as he pads out into the hallway.
^Vincent^: �If anything jumps out and attacks me priest, I�ll be pretty pissed at ya!� Walks towards the hallway.
Claron stands quietly listening to the others. �Didn�t realize I was so tense,� as she begins to feel herself relax.
^Lilly^ walks out and stands next to the door. �And what are we looking at?�
Tabris: �Shall we go tag along, Babe?� Tabris reaches over Claron�s shoulder and kisses her on the cheek.
Luna_Faline steps out into the hall and moves to look over the banister to the lower levels.
^Vincent^: �Careful, kitty�wouldn�t want anything popping up and ruining that pretty lil face now.�
Vin_Da_DM: Luna sees the main chamber as it was before, but notices that the three statues in the front have changed positions. Each one is lifting a hand in the air and a planetary map is showing on the ceiling.
Claron smiles then nods her head, �I suppose we should.� Turns around and begins to walk towards the door.
Vin_Da_DM: Another dull roar sounds as a tall white and pink colored creature approaches the statues and looks up at the map.
Claron: �I don�t remember the statues looking like that when we first arrived here,� whispers to Tabris.
^Vincent^: �What is that pink thing?�
Luna_Faline looks up at the map on the ceiling, �What universe is that?� I ask the priests.
Vin_Da_DM: �Better to ask the priestess�� The young priest motions towards the creature then bows his head before disappearing down the hallway.
Claron looks around trying to figure out where the roar is coming from.
Vin_Da_DM: Claron notices the creature is making the roars, with each roar the map on the ceiling is moving, changing.
^Vincent^: �And where the hell is this priestess?�
^Lilly^ raises an eyebrow.
^Vincent^ walks down the hallway.
Luna_Faline: �Very interesting...indeed,� I hiss to myself.
Claron: �You see that? That creature is making the map change every time she roars.�
Vin_Da_DM: �I believe that is the priestess�� Eclipse eyes the others, �On her arm, the tattoo. Is exactly like the one on Jinana�s chest.� He hops off and lands on the floor below.
^Vincent^ sees Eclipse jump...then he hops the rail and joins him.
Tabris: �Crazy...that can�t be the same chick. She was...hotter last time.� Tabris tilts his head then looks at Claron.
^Lilly^ shakes her head, �Men!�
Claron looks back at Tabris shaking her head.
Luna_Faline turns to look at Tabris with utter shock at his lack of tact. �I can�t believe you said that.�
^Vincent^ lands on the floor then grins, �That was...fun!�
Vin_Da_DM: �Well, excuse me,� Tabris sticks his tongue out at Luna, then walks downstairs.
Luna_Faline: �Claron is the one you should ask to excuse you,� shaking my head.
Vin_Da_DM: The creature turns towards you, lets out an acknowledging growl then looks back up at the map.
Claron just shakes her head as she follows Tabris down the stairs.
Vin_Da_DM: �Hmm�� Eclipse moves towards the creatures feet and sits, staring up at the map. �I�ve seen some of these stars before.�
^Vincent^: �Oooo, a growl,� shakes his head then whispers to himself, �Why does that turn me on?� then starts to laugh.
Luna_Faline moves closer to the lady and looks up at the map again, �Which planets are those?� I ask.
^Lilly^: �Cuz your a pig.�
^Vincent^ looks at Lilly, �Oink, oink baby.�
Claron stops on the bottom step then sits down on it to watch and listen to the others.
^Lilly^: Don�t call me baby,� walks over to Eclipse, �So what do you s�pose we do now?�
Vin_Da_DM: The creature looks at Luna, starts to growl but pauses. Quietly the growl drowns out and a deep voice sounds, �These are the planets of this galaxy, Luna.�
Luna_Faline: �Which galaxy is this then?� I ask once again.
Vin_Da_DM: Eclipse shakes his head at Lilly and continues to listen to Luna and the creature.
^Vincent^ looks at the map, �Where are we?�
Claron: �And why is it you keep changing the position of them?� asking from her seated position.
^Lilly^ sighs, �Alright��
Vin_Da_DM: �Only the gods know it�s name...forgive me. I am Varna,� Varna shifts her gaze to the map, then roars softer this time as the star-map centers on a star system, �I am searching for what you�ve lost.�
^Lilly^: �What we�ve lost?�
Luna_Faline: �That is most kind of you, Varna.�
Claron: �You are searching for our babies?� asks in a rather anxious voice.
^Vincent^ looks at Luna, �I doubt she is doing it out of kindness probably wants us to do something for her.�
^Lilly^ feeling stupid and completely insensitive, �Oh, yeah��whispers.
Vin_Da_DM: �Your offspring, yes,� Varna lifts one of her arms as a blade slides from the slit in the center of it. The system lowers from the ceiling and hovers in front of her, �You asked of Jinana. What she cannot do, I do.�
Luna_Faline nods at Vincent�s comment but doesn�t speak about it.
Claron eyes grow large, �Please, tell me you have found them!�
^Vincent^ walks over to the wall and leans against it with his right foot on the wall.
Tabris: �You can find our kids on this...planetarium show of yours?� Tabris looks at Varna questioningly.
Vin_Da_DM: �I am close�� Varna lowers her arm and walks around, looking at each of the seven planets in the system in turn.
^Vincent^ looks around the room then at the map.
Vin_Da_DM: Tilting her head she pauses, �Something is not right��
^Vincent^: �Great!!�
Vin_Da_DM: �Is there a problem?� Eclipse glances at Varna.
Claron: �What do you mean something is not right?!� feeling the ray hope being stripped away.
Vin_Da_DM: �The children...there, but not there,� Varna eyes the model as it begins to turn a reddish color. �What is this? Something is trying to stop me!�
Claron: �How can they be there but not be there...who...what is stopping you?� speaking in a panicked fashion.
Tabris: �What you mean something trying to stop you?� Tabris raises a brow as he holds Claron�s shoulder.
^Vincent^: �So what do we have to do now yer high and mighty priestess lady?�
Luna_Faline lowers my gaze to Vincent, �You should show respect in this temple,� I growl at him.
^Vincent^ looks at Luna then starts to laugh a bit.
Vin_Da_DM: �Changing�� Varna watches as the planets in the system become blood red color and fade out. One of the planets remains and shifts into a black swirled pattern. �No! This cannot be!�
Claron looks up at Tabris with a desperate look in her eyes.
Vin_Da_DM: Eclipse lowers his gaze then looks around at the others, �There�s something. I�m sensing it��
^Vincent^ shakes his head, �Now, I guess we have to run out and either battle an insanely huge thing or fight of an army of aliens or something.�
Claron: �First the map goes blood red, then it goes black ... surely that�s a bad sign?!�
Luna_Faline looks from the map to Eclipse then to Varna. �Where is that planet?�
Vin_Da_DM: �Priestess and her...pets. Looking for something, are we?� The pattern shrinks and becomes a marking on the chest of a female figure in white clothing with long black hair, with pale eyes she smirks.
^Vincent^ stands in the back of the group staring at the screen. �Who�s the hottie?�
Vin_Da_DM: �Angel. What do want this time?� Varna growls at Angel.
Claron shifts her gaze to the female in the white clothing.
Vin_Da_DM: �Nothing from you, Varna. Or should I say Jinana, glad to see your enjoying Daddy�s little present.� Angel eyes the group, �But your friends. They want something and I want something.�
^Vincent^ laughs a lil then thinks to himself, �I'll take yer number.�
Luna_Faline: �There is always a trade involved,� I whisper to Eclipse.
Claron looks at Tabris with a puzzled expression, �Is she saying Varna is Jinana... and who is Daddy?�
Claron: �Do tell us what it is you want?�
Vin_Da_DM: �There is no mere trade Luna, servant of Selenia,� Angel grins at Luna. �You want to get Claron�s children back. I can help you, in return for a small...favor.�
^Vincent^ walks closer to Luna. �See there is always a catch.�
Luna_Faline: �Hence the trade.....get on with it.�
Claron jumps up from her sitting position, �What favor?�
Vin_Da_DM: �They won�t deal with you Angel,� Varna snarls at her, �Do not listen to her, she will fill you with false promises�� As Varna speaks Angel lifts a hand and sends her flying back to the ground.
^Vincent^: �It�s probably just a mission to get the albino her crab medicine.�
Claron whispers, �Obviously she is not a friend.�
Luna_Faline: �We�ve made deals with devils before,� I growl.
Vin_Da_DM: �Do be quiet, dear sister,� Angel looks at Luna and Claron, �Being a friendly sort. I�ll give you two choices. Bring my dear sister here, so that I can kill her for her betrayal. Or find something in the Black City for me.�
^Vincent^ looks around the group then grins.
Luna_Faline looks around at the group for a moment, �What do you want in the City?�
Vin_Da_DM: �And what assurance do we have that you�ll help us?� Eclipse eyes Angel as he pads towards Varna.
Claron starts to walk slowly towards Angel, �First, you will have to tell us who your dear sister is�we aren�t mind readers you know,� stopping a few feet away from Angel.
Vin_Da_DM: Tossing a finger toward Varna a white bolt strikes her and she shifts back to being Jinana, �She is my dear sister. As for what I want...the black heart of the Bahamut.�
^Vincent^ looks at the group again, �Why don�t we bring in Jinana seeing that she already fried her?�
Luna_Faline: �Why do you want it and where do we find it?�
Luna_Faline turns on Vincent, �You will not sacrifice a priestess!�
^Vincent^: �Hey, all I�m saying is let�s do the easy mission and be done. It�ll get us closer to her babies.�
Claron stands staring at Angel then looks at Jinana... �Why would you want to kill your own sister? What could she have possibly done to you that you would want to see her die?�
Vin_Da_DM: Angel smiles at Vincent, �But why not Luna. You do not know what unholy acts she has committed.� Brushing hair from her face Angel continues, �Why is none of your concern, and the Bahamut lives in the Black City. Jinana can help you find it.�
Claron: �I don�t like the sound of any of this,� mutters under her breath.
Vin_Da_DM: Jinana rises slowly, �The unholy acts were your doing!�
Tabris: �Neither do I...so who do we trust?� Tabris whispers to Claron.
Claron: �Ourselves...only ourselves,� whispers back to Tabris.
^Vincent^ looks at Jinana and Angel, �Unholy or holy is only a matter of morals. Who is to say what is holy or not?�
Vin_Da_DM: �Dear Jinana, arguments said and done,� Angel looks at the group, �What is your choice?�
^Vincent^: �Either way, let�s hurry up and kill something!�
^Vincent^ looks at the group, �Remember not all �demons� are evil!�
Claron looks around at the others...then back at Angel��Obviously you want us to go to the Black City...if you truly had wanted to harm Jinana, you have had plenty of time to do it already.�
Vin_Da_DM: �Do not give her what she wants!� Jinana lifts her hand at the group beckoning, �I won�t let you kill an innocent creature!�
Claron: �Then someone best be trying to make us understand things more clearly!�
Luna_Faline: �We won�t need to kill, if it is of such great use to her, purrhaps it will serve us in exchange for our protection,� I whisper to Eclipse.
Vin_Da_DM: �True. But now the choice has changed,� Angel turns to look at Jinana. �You can forsake my help and let my dear sister help you with her pitiful attempts, or you can get me what I want and I will tell you where to find them.�
^Vincent^ looks at Jinana, �So if you don�t want us to harm it, the only other choice we have is to give you to her.�
Vin_Da_DM: �Maybe�� Eclipse looks at Luna.
Claron: �This is so unfair...you are dangling my children in front of me like they are nothing more than puppets on your string!�
Tabris: �They�re nobody�s puppets...I don�t know which of you to trust now�� Tabris eyes both of the women.
^Vincent^ looks at Tab, �Go with yer gut, kid.�
Vin_Da_DM: �You waste my time,� Angel crosses her arms, �All you do is whine and talk. Destroy her..� From the corners of the room several dark creatures crawl from the shadows and slowly head for Jinana. �If you survive, dear sister, pray that your friends here do as I ask.�
Vin_Da_DM: Angel fades as the beasts snarl and bear fangs.
Luna_Faline draws my sai watching the creatures moving into the room.
^Vincent^: �Well, there is our answer!� Quickly dashes over to a beast and swipes at it�s neck with his claw.
Vin_Da_DM: Vincent�s claw tears the monster�s neck in half. Turning a fanged mouth to him it�s neck begins to re-grow.
^Vincent^: Shit...bad doggy!� He plunges his claw into the creature�s heart.
Vin_Da_DM: Jinana closes eyes and begins to chant, a bolt of white energy sails towards one of the beasts, cutting it in half. The two halves been to grow into individual creatures.
Luna_Faline: �Jinana! We need fewer not more of them!� I yell at her.
Tabris: �Not good!� Tabris raises his hands as two thin obsidian blades appear in them.
Claron shakes her head as she reaches for the steel boomerang.... �Oh, my god��
Vin_Da_DM: Eclipse jumps at one of the creatures, plowing into it and sending them both into the shadows.
Vin_Da_DM: Vincent�s claw pierces the creature, but it changes shape around his claw then kicks him backward into the wall.
Luna_Faline holding my sai in such a way to get a beam of light reflected off it, I aim the beam at one of the creatures. �Let there be light,� I growl.
^Vincent^: �Oww!� He stands then grins then charges at it knocking it back.
Vin_Da_DM: Luna notices the light beam burns a hole clean through the monster. It snarls and spasms before disappearing completely.
Luna_Faline turns the sai to aim at another creature, yelling, �Make more light!!!�
^Vincent^ looks at the priestess, �Are ya gonna shed some light on this, or are ya gonna sit on yer ass all day?�
Vin_Da_DM: �Commotion from the inner hall!� The guard�s voice yell as they enter the room from the back, �By the gods...ahhhH!� The two guards scream as more of the beasts tear them apart.
Claron copies Luna, using her steel boomerang to reflect light at the other creature
Vin_Da_DM: Claron�s creature vanishes as well. At the front of the hall Jinana narrows her gaze, �Everyone get down!�
^Vincent^ looks at the group, �Hmmmm,� then tries to get light to bounce off his claw at the creature.
Claron drops to the ground.
^Vincent^ ducks and covers.
Luna_Faline drops to all fours, pulling my hood up to shade my face.
Vin_Da_DM: Jinana lifts both hands as a massive white bolt blows a skylight into the temple�s ceiling. She falls to her knee breathing heavily.
Vin_Da_DM: Debris from the ceiling falls down, landing on several of the spasming creatures with a *crunch*.
Claron throws her arms up around her head, shielding her now closed eyes.
^Vincent^ stands up and looks around to see if any of the creatures survived.
Luna_Faline dodges falling debris to make my way to Jinana�s side. I kneel next to her, �Rest,� I tell her placing a paw on her arm.
Vin_Da_DM: Around the edges of the skylight are half a dozen creatures. Two more are near the door, chewing on what is left of the guards.
^Vincent^ charges to a creature grabs it by the neck and flings it into the light.
Vin_Da_DM: Luna feels her powers doing nothing. Jinana looks at her with a smile, then nods, �Go. I will live.�
Claron looks around after hearing the ceiling fall��I see no way to beat them all.�
Luna_Faline nods to Jinana then stands moving into the sunlight to redirect beams of it at the creatures by the door.
Vin_Da_DM: The creature flies over Vincent�s head and into the light. Vaporizing just after it hits the ground.
^Vincent^: �COOL!� Charges through the creatures shoving them backwards into the light.
Claron takes the boomerang and reflects light at another one of the creatures.
Tabris: �We can do it, Claron.� Tabris leaps towards a few of the creatures and impales them. As the reform to avoid him, Claron�s light beam kills them.
Vin_Da_DM: Vincent manages to push another into the light to death, as Luna kills one at the door. The remaining creatures howl and disappear.
Luna_Faline directs a light beam into the corner where Eclipse disappeared. �Where did he go?�
Vin_Da_DM: �This is not a good sign�� Jinana looks up the skylight, �Sending the creatures means she�s going after it herself. We must stop her.�
^Vincent^: �Ummm, �we��or do you mean us?�
Vin_Da_DM: To the side of the hall a singular shadowy figure lands on the ground.
Luna_Faline: �And where is this Bahamut she is going after?� I ask as I move toward Eclipse.
^Vincent^ looks at the new creature, �Great, another work out.�
Claron: �Oh great�First, you tell us not to do it....Now, you are telling us we have to stop her...and for what purpose?....She isn�t going to tell us where the babies are now.�
Vin_Da_DM: �I doubt you�d enjoy �working out� against me, Vincent.� Eclipse steps into the light of the skylight and you notice he looks very different.
Luna_Faline looks at Eclipse�s blue eyes, �You OKAY?�
^Vincent^: �And you are??�
Vin_Da_DM: Blinking he looks himself over, �Interesting...seems fighting those things in my realm had some un-foreseen results.�
Claron: �I would recognize them blue eyes any where.�
^Vincent^: �Wait!!� He looks closer, �Yer the lil black pussy aren�t ya?�
Luna_Faline nods, �Apparently so�� I purrumble.
Tabris: �That�s Eclipse alright...like the new you,� Tabris smirks then looks at Claron.
Claron: �The new me?� looks questioningly at Tabris.
Tabris: �Not you...him,� Tabris motions at Eclipse.
Vin_Da_DM: Jinana watches the group, �We must get to the Black City. If Angel manages to find Bahamut and kill it...it will be disastrous. But...with it�s help, perhaps I can narrow the location of where your children are��
Vin_Da_DM: �Black City. One of those things had that on it�s mind while I was fighting it,� Eclipse nods and flicks his long new tail.
Claron: �Then lets go.��
Luna_Faline: �Are you strong enough to travel now, Jinana?�
^Vincent^ flicks off some of the creatures goo of his claw, �I�m game, let�s go.�
Vin_Da_DM: Jinana looks at Luna, then holds her hand against the tattoo on her chest. A pinkish wave flushes over her as she turns into Varna, �Yes. We must make haste...the Black City is large and Angel is already searching, no doubt.�
Tabris: �Well, if you�re going, I�m going.� Tabris holds Claron�s hand.
Claron: �Then lead the way.�
Luna_Faline bows my head for a moment, �Let�s go.�
^Vincent^: �What if she takes down that Bahamut before we get there?�
Vin_Da_DM: Varna looks to Vincent, �Then finding the missing children will be the least of our problems,� turning she approaches the Three statues and begins to chant.
Claron looks at Tabris....�Then we have to make sure that doesn�t happen.�
^Vincent^ walks behind Jinana then looks at the statues.
Vin_Da_DM: In response to the chant the three statues begin to move, each extending both of their hands downward. A circle of light forms where they point.
Luna_Faline watching Varna, my paw rubs my amulet as I pray to Selenia for help in our search.
Claron: �Don�t tell me....we have to go into the light.�
^Vincent^ looks at the light, �Do we have to go into a light bulb?. I�m tan enough.�
Luna_Faline looks at the circle of light, �We will be leaving a Warrior behind if we do this,� thinking of Tewyn.
^Vincent^: � It was the Drow�s choice to run off somewhere�his fault.�
Vin_Da_DM: Varna stops chanting and steps forward onto the circle, looking back she nods, �Come, the Black City await.� She takes another step forward and vanishes into thin air.
Claron: �Knowing the Drow, he will probably beat us there.�
Luna_Faline follows Varna into the circle with my head bowed.
^Vincent^ steps close to the light, �You sure this is safe?�
Claron: �Here we go, dear...walking into the light...yet once again,� stepping forward with Tabris into the light.
Vin_Da_DM: Luna, Claron and Tabris vanish on their second step.
^Vincent^ closes his eyes, �Well, here goes,� then jumps on the light.
Vin_Da_DM: Eclipse shakes his head at Vincent as he steps onto the light then steps again, disappearing.
^Vincent^: �Umm, oh, didn�t go anywhere.� He takes a few steps.
^Vincent^ jumps up and down, �WORK, DAMN YOU!!�
Vin_Da_DM: On the other side you find yourselves stepping off another light circle. Three statues behind you. Ahead of you seems to be a very similar temple except that time has not been kind. The building is partially caved in and dark. Ahead the main doorway has dull gray light pouring in.
^Vincent^ looks around as he realizes he is in another place. �Ummmm...Hi, guys...I meant to jump around like a retard.�
Luna_Faline: �Yea, sure you did,� I mumble as I roll my eyes.
Tabris: �Sure you did�� Tabris shakes his head and looks around, �Man, this place could use some housekeeping.�
Vin_Da_DM: Varna walks towards the doorway.
Claron looks around, �Are we on the dark side of the moon?�
^Vincent^ follows Varna.
Vin_Da_DM: �The old temple. Back in the glory days of the Black City, this place was glorious. Or so the stories say.� Varna looks around at the debris and dust.
Vin_Da_DM: �Across the sea, no. The Black City lies in the heart of the Dead Lands. Far south of the Holy city.� Varna ducks under the partially collapsed doorway.
Claron listens to Varna as she and Tab follow her to the door.
^Vincent^ ducks under the door.
Claron and Tabris duck under the door..
Luna_Faline follows Claron and Tabris thru the doorway.
Vin_Da_DM: �This place is in ruins,� Eclipse comments as he follows the other.
Vin_Da_DM: On the other side of the doorway collapsed columns line the plaza. At the end of the plaza, oddly enough, is a very rusted out fishing boat. Beyond it you can see the Black City.
^Vincent^ looks at the fishing boat, �Must be a bad fishing season.�
Luna_Faline: �This does not look good,� as I survey the scene.
Vin_Da_DM: �The Black City. Destroyed in the great wars of long forgotten times.� Varna walks towards the edge of the boat and looks over the city.
