Rasta Knast

Everything indicates that Caçapava really entered for the circuit foreign underground, to example of " Bambix " (Holland) and " Good Clean Fun " (USA), next weekend 18/06 will have in the Posso! Skate Bar the band " Rasta Knast " directly of Germany, of the way that you/they are going the things it seems that will have foreign bands always playing in Caçapava! (a rumor not exists confirmed that " Marky Ramone " will be back to Brazil in the second semester... who knows he doesn't come for here also!!!)

" Rasta Knast " was founded by Martin K. (former-Wonderprick) and Höhnie (exPissed Spitzels) in Janeiro/97! On this same month they recorded EP " Probegepogf " with only 2 components! For surprise EP immediately became a success in the scene German Punk selling very well! The public's excellent reception and several invitations for shows, he/she did with that " Rasta Knast " had the help of members of " Wonderprick " to compose the formation and to do the first shows. When Matin K. and Höhnie composed new music for the 1° album, Konrad Kittner of legendary " Abstürzende Brieftauben " becomes the new bear and with this formation the band records the classic Legal album " Kriminal " thrown in Março/98! THE critic chose the album as one of the best of 98 in Germany and with the need of accomplishing several shows find Carsten (former-Emils) that assumes the battery but it is substituted by Eric (Gainsay) in April of 99.

Through numerous shows for the whole Germany and a small turnê in Estonia and Spain (documented by Plastic Bomb - magazine) " Rasta Knast " reaches great respect of the scene European Punk, resulting in the licensing for release of the Legal album " Kriminal " in every Escandinávia through the Swedish stamp Birdnest.

After the participation in several collections for every Europe, in Setembro/99 they throw your new album (Die Katze Beisst in Draht), still better than Legal previous " Kriminal ", with recording quality above the pattern, guitars and powerful bass, three voices in melodies that don't go out of the head and critical letters with relationship to the subjects of the state and of the society. The influences of classic bands of Sweden as " Asta Kask " or " Strebers " cannot be forgotten: " Rasta Knats " plays a fast and melodic Punk-rock with all the energy and characteristic feeling of the European bands of the 80's.

Besides offers for release in the American market, the new album (Die Katze Beisst in Daht) it was licensed in Brazil by Red Star Records " that brings to I turn in June with 8 presentations including São Paulo (2 shows), Campinas, Sto André, Caçapava, Curitiba, Niterói and Rio de Janeiro. The show in the Posso! it will count with the bands " Agrotóxicos " and " General Bacon " (both of São Paulo) in the opening, I affirm again: Caçapava entered in the map of the alternative bands of the whole world! Be programmed, 18/06 has this foreign show in the Posso! and 25/06 has championship of mini-ramp accompanied of the show of the band carioca " Cabeçudoss " with opening of Red Season " of Taubaté all this in the Posso!.
