Rasta Knast (Entrevista)

On 17/06 Caçapava was toasted with one more international attraction, this time went to the German " band Rasta Knast " that came in the Posso ! Skate Bar in a turnê that counted with eight shows for Brazil, in the principal places of shows underground, as i had already commented Caçapava it is among them thanks to Felipe's effort of the Posso ! Skate Bar

They opened the show the bands " General Bacon " and " Agrotóxicos " both of São Paulo; the first to play was " General Bacon " formed in 97, initially with four components, it counted with Thiago in the bass that left in at the beginning of 98 being: Márcio in the drums, Galindo in the guitar/vocals and Fábio in the backing vocals/bass guitar, threw a demo Cd with four music sung in Portuguese and that they give a good display of the sound of the galley, they made a very legal show, conquering the present galley; contacts for e-mail: [email protected] or [email protected] or still for telephone: (11) 228-6889 or 229-6981 to speak with Alexandre or Fábio.

In the sequence it was the time of " Agrotóxicos ", with a very fast sound to the style of old bands punks, formed in 93 they possess two Demo-tape, they participated in several national and foreign collections, they recorded a Cd in 98 and they are with plans of throwing a close one to the end of this year, in spite of vocalist's change, the current was making your second show with the band, he didn't leave anything to want! Then it was the time of the German galley to tear, in spite of to be little known and to sing in German, what hinders the understanding for us Brazilian, the band " Rasta Knast " pleased her/it all the presents with a sound very well done and with an incredible sympathy! We talked about several subjects, as the scene Brazilian punk, the shows for Europe, the entrance of Phill in the battery (he is with the band to the only three months!) and they showed great knowledge on what it rolls for here! The band was formed in January of 97 and it counts now with: Martin K. Calendar: During the whole month of July in Campos of Jordão/Capivari always the sixth fairs to 19:00 h, there will be two bands of São José dos Campos playing, we will give prestige to the galley of the valley in all the followings!

- Were two shows until the moment in Brazil, would it like him/it to know what you are finding of the Brazilian public and the repercussion that he/she is having this turnê?

Martin - it is easy to say: " Fantastic, maximum..." (taking a risk words in Portuguese!)

Hönie - we are liking too much, mainly in the show yesterday (17/06 in the Hangar 110 in São Paulo) when several people arose in the stage singing with the band and we didn't hope for that, because our letters are in German, is a language difficult to understand. It is being the best turnê of the band!

- how long the band exists? talk a little about the shows in Germany and in other countries!

Hönie - the band began in January of 1997, in the beginning we were Martin, and I that played in several German bands after terms we decided to found "Rasta Knast" in 97. We recorded two Cd, one of them thrown in Brazil by the stamp " Red Star " and, last, we threw a compact one in vinyl with four music in Spanish! On the shows, we did several for Germany and we went to Spain for twice in a total of four shows, we also played in Austria and after that Brazilian turn we will go to Sweden, Holland and other places.

- On the Brazilian bands, which you already knew and what finds of the movement Punk Brazilian?

Hönie - we were interested in Brazilian Punk since 1983 when we had access the collection " Suburban " Scream with: Cholera ", " Innocent " and " I Look Dry " and ever since we saw maintaining contact with other bands and hearing several sounds... we Thought the scene in Brazil this plenty fort, with very good bands, in the most several styles and tendencies, as: " Blind Pigs ", Flicts " (that does a sound style 77), Agrotóxicos " (that does a great sound in the old style) and a great surprise for us went to the band " you Hum of the Space " which we caught a CD for these days and we found too much!

- Phill, how the newest drums of " Rasta ", what do you come finding of the experience of playing with the galley?

Phill - " Rasta " was seeking a drums and I played in other bands in Germany, when they invited saying me of the shows marked in Spain and in Brazil, of ready I accepted and I am finding great to have come, to be knowing new bands of other countries, different cultures... This being great for me!
