~Brown in large roaster in oven.

~In the meantime  mix:
  1/4 c. vinegar
  1 c. water
  1 tin consome
  1 tsp. thyme
  !/8 tsp. sage
  1 tbsp. dry mustard
  1 bay leaf

~Mix in bowl.
  1 onion, chopped
  4 stalks celery, chopped with leaves
  1/2 to 1 head cabbage, coarsely cut
  1/2 tsp. salt
  pepper to taste

~Put cabbage over meat in roaster.
~Pour sauce over all.
~Add salt & pepper
~Bake 3-4 hrs. in 350 oven
~Remove bay leaf. 

Serve with mashed potatoes.
