I corned beef brisket ~Cover with water in large pot or dutch oven. 1 large onion, sliced. ~Boil for 5 or 6 hrs. ~Add boiling water to this as needed.
Add: 1 T. sugar 3 medium carrots, cut into 1/2 " pieces 1 large cabbage, cut into 8 wedges ~Boil for 1 hr. with corned beef.
To serve: ~Remove corned beef from pot, slice and arrange in the center of a platter. ~Arrange the vegetables around the meat.
This makes an excellent cabbage soup for leftovers along with corned beef sandwiches. MMMMMMMMMM..............
