Recipe of the Month--August
Candice's  Blueberry  Grunt
Sauce:
4 c. blueberries
1/2 t. nutmeg
1/2 t. cinnamon
3/4 c. sugar
1 T. lemon juice
1/2 c. water
Heat & boil gently in skillet 'til     slightly cooked down.
Dumplings:
2 c. flour
4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 T. sugar
2 T. butter or shortening
milk
Mix dry ingredients.
Cut in the butter.  Mix.
Add enough milk to make
   a soft dough.
Drop by spoonfuls into the
   hot berry sauce.
Cover tightly.
Simmer 15 mins. 'til puffed &
  cooked through
Remove dumplings to serving
  dish.
Ladle the sauce over top.

Serve with cream, whipped cream or ice cream.
