MY HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

The problem with my hobbies is that there are not enough hours in a day or
days in a week for them all!
I have been an avid collector of antique and collectible toy soldiers for
many years. I think this is because I played with them as a child in
England. Recently I have been selling toys at ebay - do check out my
auctions there. It's amazing how quickly my collection has built up
.... from the first half a dozen lead soldiers I bought years ago in an
antique store - to the approximately 8,000 figures I have today. Now you see
why I am trying to trim the numbers down by selling on ebay!  I started my beekeeping hobby several years ago when a good friend married and had to get rid of his hives. For some unknown reason I said that I would take them! I had always been afraid of bees but since realising how fascinating they are it has become a very interesting and rewarding hobby for me.... with the added advantage of 300 lbs of honey a year. If you are interested in buying some of the best honey you have ever tasted, e-mail me and we can discuss it.  I started to build my fish pond two summers ago. It has a capacity of about 1700 gallons and is 18' by 12' and 3' deep in the centre. The inspiration for it came from my father who built one when I was a child. I remember so many happy hours feeding the fish and spending relaxing hours in my childhood and now look forward to my granddaughter sitting by my pond as she grows older ..... she already heads straight to it when she visits.  My other hobbies include gun collecting, gardening, painting and woodcarving and maybe soon falconry, another pastime which has always intrigued me.
