Check out the difference between a field that has been taken over by Purple Loosestrife and one that has been cleared of the flowers by hand.  The question being asked here is: Do insect pollinator communities differ between invaded and uninvaded sites?
When working in these wetlands it seems as if everything is poisonous.  From poison sumac and ivy plants to these little critters.  If you get any of the spines from this caterpiller in your skin it will most likely swell up to the size of a grapefriut.
These places are teeming with chemical defences.
