Temple of Ptah

The temple is located at the north end of the Karnak complex. It can be reached by a path stretched from the north wall of the great temple of Amun. The temple is shaded by palm trees and has five doorways. Each of these doorways are covered with scenes and text from the Ptolemaic period.
The last door, to the west of the Karnak complex, leads to a column vestibule. Behind the column, the entrance of the temple is designed as a small pylon. After passing the entrance hall, there are three chapels dating from the era of Thutmose III. The unusual statue of Ptah with a missing head is located in the middle chapel. The startling apparition of Sekhmet is in the right chapel. Sekhmet is portrayed with a lioness head. The roof allows a light greenish reflection from the sunlight to cover the room, creating very cool atmosphere.

The ''Keeper'' leads the Initiate up to the statue, and again takes the Initiates right hand, begins to go through the initiation,
first touching
Sekhemets head then back to Initiates head, this act being repeated three times.
Then it was to
Sekhemets right arm on across to the same position on the Initiate, a repeat to the right arm but this time to the Initiates left arm.
Finally touching
Sekhemets staff and bringing his hand up to the Initiates forehead.
Then the 'Keeper' leaves the Initiate for a few minutes, to complete his own private meditation.

On leaving the Temple the 'Keeper' locks the outer door again.
