| This was one of the first Christian CDs that I ever bought and I instantly fell in love with the band. I actually fell in love with the band before I had ever heard them, just because I liked their ministry. The album starts off with a crying baby before the music in Baby Killer strikes. Opening up with Rock-a-bye Baby on a children's piano, Love with a Fist quickly hits a discordant note and then breaks into the main riff, started on the bass. Stix and Stonz opens up with a killer bass line and it has a great message towards Christians who are ashamed of being a Christian. Commencing with a thunderclasp followed by great organ that leads the way for the rest of the song, Bride in Black is an outstanding song. Milk and Cookies is a great song with an eerie feel to it. This is a great album by a superb band. Jackson guitars even gave them a great review in one of their monthly catalogs and they also sponsored Rackets and Drapes. Grade: A | ||||||||||||||||||||

| A year after Candyland, Rackets and Drapes came up with a limited edition EP named, The Sick and the Beautiful. 1000 copies were made and the band signed and numbered the picture on the inside. They skipped #666, so some lucky fan out there has #1001 out of 1000. I have #762 and it is my favorite from R&D. There is a remix of Love with a Fist which I think is better than the original, very well done. Kill Your Self is a great track that opens up with organ and XXX is done very well, with two vocal lines layered on top of one another. The one vocal line is Kandy sounding like a child and then under that he is doing his normal Gothic vocals. The disc ends with an interview with R&D titled Storytime with Rackets and Drapes which shows the band humorous side. Grade: A | ||||||||||||||||||||

Track Listing: Asylum Scary-Go-Round Trick or Treat Rotten Apples Medicine Head On Your Knees Virgin in the Midst Plastic Jesus (Haunted Remix) Personal Jesus Beat the Devil |

| This album was one that I really anticipated and I ordered it as soon as I could. It opens up in the Asylum with laughter and carnival style organ which then leads you right into Scary-Go-Round. Trick or Treat has an industrial-like beat and cool vocals. Opening up with whispering, Rotten Apples quickly explodes into screaming and guitar. On Your Knees starts off with a cool drum beat and the beat remains through the whole song, and then the slower, pretty song Virgin in the Midst follows it up. There is a remix of Plastic Jesus from The Sick and the Beautiful and they cover Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus, in which I think they did a good job. This is another great album by a great Christian band, I highly recommend all three. Grade: A | ||||||||||||||||||||
