F*** Me Jesus
Departure from the Mortals
The Black
Within the Abyss
Shut up and Suffer
Dark Endless
In Conspiracy with Satan
Woman of Dark Desires
This is a re-issue of Marduk's infamous demo and it includes three bonus tracks on it. The opening track is a sound byte from The Exorcist. Departure from the Mortals plays through in almost the fashion of Death, but blended with a touch of black metal. The riffing throughout the original part of the album are heavily influenced by death metal and I hear a lot of Death in their sound. It is also heavily present in Within the Abyss. Shut up and Suffer is an instrumental piece of mostly woodwinds, very pretty and serene. Out of the bonus tracks, Dark Endless is an original of theirs and the other two are covers of Bathory classics, Woman of Dark Desires being my favorite of the two. This is a very good demo, with rather decent production, especially when compared to their early Norwegian brethren. Grade: B+

Track Listing:

Panzer Division Marduk
Baptism by Fire
Christraping Black Metal
Scorched Earth

502
Fistf***ing God's Planet
Including their demo, Panzer Division Marduk is Marduk's eighth album. Before the all out aural blitzkrieg commences, there is a command to fire and tank cannons go off before the bone-crushing drums and guitars come in. An air raid of Stuka dive bombers opens up Baptism by Fire, which foreshadows that Marduk is not about to relent even a little bit in their aural blitzkrieg. The introduction to Scorched Earth seems almost as a quick regrouping before they continue into the assault. More sounds of war are used to open up Beast of Prey, which are soon followed by screaming lead guitar in a fashion sounding like a dive-bombing Stuka. The main riff in Blooddawn rides up and down the scale in a semi-majestic fashion. 502 is full of explosions amidst the aggressive music. As the assault comes to a close, a little over thirty seconds of "ambient" war sounds with a baby faintly whining are heard. I waited so long to get this album and was very hyped up when I ordered it and opened it up for the first listen. It did not disappoint me one bit, and currently it is one of my favorite discs, very well done, though could be longer. Great WWII soundbytes! Grade: A-
