| Horde was a one man project from Australia. It was started to satire the Norwegian Black Metal scene by Jayson Sherlock, who has played in Mortification and Paramaecium. The satire can be seen in Sherlock's chosen name, 'Anonymous', and in the song titles and lyrics. The album design resembles that of Darkthrone's, especially Transilvanian Hunger, which was released the year before Horde's release. Hellig Usvart, the project's only release, opens up with ambient wind blowing and the far off knell from a church bell. The music is Norwegian styled black metal, with the same lacking production, but is very good. Blasphemous Abomination of the Satanic Pentagram is fifty seconds of just pure speed, blast beats and chaos. Thine Hour Hast Come and Drink from the Chalice of Blood are really catchy songs which will end up being stuck in your head the rest of the day, if not longer. Silence the Blasphemous Chanting is in the vain of old Mayhem and ends in a Satyricon-styled acoustic outro. Invert the Inverted Cross and An Abandoned Grave Bathes Softly in the Falling Moonlight resemble Satyricon in style. This album is full of good black metal and I recommend getting it.
