OLESON SLAYS CEDARBURG
GRAFTON - Coming off a first place finish at their own invite, the Grafton Black Hawks took to the field Tuesday night against the archrival Cedarburg Bulldogs.  The Black Hawks were looking to avenge last season's 2-1 overtime defeat suffered at the hands of the Bulldogs in Cedarburg. The year before that, Grafton handled Cedarburg easily, 3-0, behind a hat trick from then senior Craig Carlson.  This time around,  the script would be eerily similar to last year's, only reversed.  Last year, it was Brian Galbraith scoring on a free kick midway through the opening half to give Grafton an early 1-0 lead before Cedarburg was able to score with under 10 minutes remaining in the game and eventually the game winner in overtime.  This time around, it was Cedarburg scoring first, when Brandon Scmiel scored midway through the first half on an errant pass that was picked up by Ben Boenhnlein and played to Scmiel, who shot far post into the side netting past junior goalkeeper Matt King.  The Bulldogs controlled much of the game, creating many chances and holding possession of the ball for most of the game, allowing the Black Hawks only a few opportunites.  That all changed with under six minutes to play in the game.  Junior Corby Oleson was able to finish a ball off of an Adam Wozniak assist in the box in the 74th minute, with just 6 minutes left to play, to tie the game at 1-1.  Oleson wasn't finished yet, with under a minute to play in the game, another ball came rolling to his waiting feet, this time off a Brandon Smart assist, and he was able to finish it off, sending the Grafton faithful and players into a frenzy.  The clock ran out and the Grafton Black Hawks had knocked off the Cedarburg Bulldogs, 2-1, in one of the craziest, most exciting atmosphere's you will ever see for high school athletics.  The chainlink fence seperating the student section from the field was not enough to hold the students back, as the fence fell to the ground and the Grafton students, the best fans in the state, spilled onto the field to join the celebration.
