Hey guys,
Heres a rundown of what happened at this weeks graduate exhibition meeting:
Exhibition Theme Voting - by this friday!!
It is now time for everyone to vote for the theme that they think is the best
for our exhibition. Thanks to everyone that has presented ideas or attended the
meetings, its been a great success.
We have put all of the exhibition concepts that were presented last week, on
the walls at the back of ROOM 244
(located on ground floor, near ladies toilets - its the same room neil teaches
illustration and art direction in!).
Please go and have a look, and vote for which concept you think is the best for
our exhibition. There will be slips of paper and a voting box there. All you have
to do, is have a look, and then on the slip, write your name, 1st preference,
and second preference.
Everyone is required to vote by THIS FRIDAY 23rd AUGUST. All
of the votes will be counted, and each persons first preference theme will be
given TWO points, and their second preference ONE point. Try to think of the exhibition
as a whole, and how everything will look.
The winning theme will be then developed by a team of creative crazy people (whoever
wants to help!) and implemented between now and the exhibition time. So
dont forget to vote by THIS FRIDAY!!! - you can vote any time between now and
then !
Exhibition Display.. Display…
This will be set up before the end of the week, in the same room as where the
exhibition concepts are - ROOM 244, on the ground floor, near the ladies toilets.
(in the room neil teaches illustration and art direction)
You will all be able to go in, and have a look at the display booths, and start
thinking about your own personal displays!
The displays have built-in lighting and adjustable shelves. You can basically
do almost anything u like with the display stands, as long as when you are finished,
they are back to their exact original state!!
Also, there is talk of EVERY student, having access to a G4 and 17" Plasma
LCD screen for their display booth, or table space. In previous years, the macs
were only allocated to the multimedia students with the tables. But now, we have
about 65 new G4's, with thin-as-hell plasma screens, which are available to ALL
students from ALL electives.
The LCD screens will hopefully fit onto one of the shelves, and the G4 tower can
be concealed/hidden under the desk of the booth. We will have to figure out a
way to hide all the cables and stuff. but it should look sweet as. So keep it
in mind.
I'm gonna measure it all up soon, hopefully the screens will fit on the shelves
! I'll keep you all posted..
Please Pay Your Exhibition Fees !! - 2nd installment Due ASAP
The second $50 installment of the $150 exhibition fee WAS due to be paid by each
student by last Friday August 16th.
Please if you havent paid your second installment of $50, can you sort it out
with your representative from any of your electives. Remember, if you dont pay
your exhibition fee, you will not be able to exhibit, and the Tafe Pimp will be
after you.
It's a team effort, if we dont all chip in and help, its not going to work. If
you have any questions, or problems with this, just email me (dan) or talk to
any of the commitee members at college.
