Heres a rundown of what happened at this weeks graduate exhibition meeting:


Exhibition Theme Presentations - Week 2 !
Thanks to everyone that came along last Friday to the first of three presentations toward choosing our exhibition theme. There were around 20 – 25 ideas presented, all fantastic, crazy idea’s that got everyone inspired and excited about our show.

This week we will be having a second meeting, and will hopefully be narrowing the idea’s down to about 5 of the best ones. And from there, we will get everyone to come along and vote on which idea they think is the best. The chosen theme will then be developed and implemented in time for our exhibition.

So please, if you care about our exhibition, come along and give us your opinion on what you think the exhibition theme should be.

This weeks meeting will be held in the same place which is:

This friday, 16th August - Main lecture theatre on the ground floor of the main Tafe building at 12:00pm lunchtime. (near the alexander library entrance)


Exhibition Displays.. Display…
Soon, in the next couple of weeks there will be an example of the exhibition display stands set up in the foyer or one of the graphic design studio's (i will let u all know), so y’all can have a look, and start planning your individual displays ready for exhibition time.

The displays have built-in lighting and adjustable shelves. You can basically do almost anything u like with the display stands, as long as when you are finished, they are back to their exact original state!! (No Sean, you can't turn it into a go-kart!..)


Design For Industry Trophy Designs
We have been talking to a few students and some of the lecturers in the Design For industry division of our college. They have offered to design our trophies for the Top student awards for each major elective. We thought this would be a cool idea, to have some crazy trophies, rather than a boring old school one. So yeah, i'll keep u posted on that one.

If that falls thru, we can always re-use some of my basketball trophies ? hehe


Pica Fuel Bar after party ?
We must start thinking about where we want to have our Graduation After Party !

Last years graduates had their after party at the The Fuel Bar (next door to PICA), which was pretty cool. Other venues we have in mind are the Brass Monkey hotel & grape wine bar (next door to eachother).

If you have any suggestions regarding after party festivities, just let me know, and I’ll see what I can do!
PS. Don’t worry, there will be more than ONE after party! What was that ? a party every night for three months? Ok then!!! :)


Exhibition Fees - 2nd installment Due THIS FRIDAY!
The second $50 installment of the $150 exhibition fee is due to be paid by each student, by no later than Friday August 16th - which is THIS FRIDAY!

This can be paid to any of the representatives in your major elective classes. Remember, if you dont pay your exhibition fee, you will unfortunately not be able to exhibit, and the Tafe Pimp will be after you.

It's a team effort, if we dont all chip in and help, its not going to work. If you have any questions, or problems with this, just email me (dan) or talk to any of the commitee members at college.
