We Think Of Them Fondly

We think of them fondly
And though they are not here
We still feel their presence…
In our hearts they are near.

The mem’ries we cherish
Of the times now long gone
All serve to remind us
That time ever rolls on.
What we have – we have now,
But that won’t always be,
What awaits tomorrow
Today no man can see.

The kind words then spoken
By the ones who’ve crossed o’er,
We once took for granted
Now they mean so much more.
For they’re all we have left
Of those times long ago,
How we’d love to see them…
Our hearts long for them so!

We know that they’re gone now,
Still we can’t help but say,
“In a way they’re still here
And are with us each day!
We think of them fondly,
Though their forms are not here,
We still feel their presence…
In our hearts they are near.”
