..........Comfort..........
When you
find yourself alone and feeling blue,
Looking
for a friend who will be kind and true,
Someone
you can trust when things aren't going well,
Someone
to deliver you from death and hell:
Turn then
to the Savior, He is ever near,
He will
banish all your heartaches, pain, and fear!
When your
best friend leaves you all alone and sad,
And each
thing you work at seems to turn out "bad";
When you
try to live right but you don't succeed,
And you
have no clue about just what you need:
Come to
Him who loves you and will never fail,
He will
give you back your strength when you are frail!
When you've
said "good-bye" to one who was your life,
And you're
having trouble rising o'er all the strife;
When your
home is empty and you feel alone,
When you
look for joy and love, but you find none:
Come to
Him who loves you and is ever true,
He has
helped so many, and He can help you!
When you've
turned astray and acted foolishly,
And you
need the comfort of a family:
Turn not
to the pleasures of this world in sin,
Come to
Him Who's stronger than the strongest men.
Jesus
Christ stands ready your burden to share,
And He'll
always give you tender loving care!

..........Old Folks..........
With withered
hand and wrinkled brow
Our form bowed down with age,
We wish
to see our children now,
While stll in mortal cage.
When they
were young and full of life
We took the time each day
To help
our children through the strife,
To chase ther cares away.
When they
were sick and in the bed
With fever raging high,
We wiped
their sweat from off their head
While night's rest passed us by.
We did
without the extra things
That lighten life's full load;
We tried
their way some joy to bring,
To smooth for them the road.
We held
their hand that first school day,
And dried each frightened tear;
To ease
their mind, their fears allay,
To let them know, "We're near."
We shared
their joy and felt their pain,
With them we grew up, too;
And, oh,
to have the chance again
To share our love anew!
But now
they have no time to spend
With old folks such as we,
We soon
shall come to life's cold end,
No more our form they'll see.
We love
them still, we do not hate,
We wish for them the best;
We hope
they'll come before "too late,"
When we have gone to rest.
We know
they'll feel the pain some day,
Of unsaid thoughts of love;
When death
has taken us away,
To that fair land above.
If you
should see our children dear,
Tell them we miss them so;
Don't
talk of death that's drawing near,
Just speak of long ago.

Subject: What If...
..........What If.............
What if
you went to work the way you worship God;
How long
the path to work would you be left to trod?
What if
you took a meal as oft as you did read
The precious
Word of Truth, how often would you feed?
And what
if you were blessed, by Him who dwells on High,
With life,
as you bless men -- when would you come to die?
What if
all folks did live the life you live down here,
And what
if all did love just things that you hold dear,
And what
if all obey no more or less than you?
How many
would there be, faithful, loyal and true?
What if
the loving Christ had lived the life you live?
Would
He have willing been His very life to give?
What if
you wake one day to find yourself before
The God
of all mankind, beyond death's chilly shore?
Would
He in love to you say, "Come, my child, well done?"
Or, would
He turn and say, "Away with you, be gone!"?
..........H. L. Gradowith..........
We will
awake some day just like that, and the question is a serious
one...
