It’s
true I’m not perfect – I’ve made mistakes,
And
sometimes I do not have what it takes…
Oft
times I have wandered far from the way:
And
– to my great shame – I did not obey.
But now I’m washed in the blood!
Made clean by the crimson flood!
No more
do I wander far from His side,
But
safe home with Jesus I’ll e’er abide.
You just
may remember me from back then
When
I wasted my life living in sin,
Maybe
you’re wondering, “What good is he?
Of what
use to Jesus could he now be?”
Friend, now I’m washed in the blood!
Made clean by the crimson flood!
I’ll
nevermore wander far from His side,
But
safe home with Jesus I’ll e’er abide.
Hard
living may seem right to you today,
But,
brother, the wise man won’t live that way;
He thinks
of the Judgment, and of the Lord:
And
he puts his faith in God’s Holy Word!
Friend, now he’s washed in the blood!
Made clean by the crimson flood!
The
wise man won’t wander from Jesus’ side,
But
safe in the Lord’s arms, he’ll e’er abide.
Nobody
is perfect here in this land
And
on his own merits no one may stand;
But
grace is extended freely to all
Who’ll
humbly give heed to the Master’s call!
Obey! Be washed in the blood!
Be cleansed ‘neath the crimson flood!
Then
nevermore wander far from His side
And
safe in the Lord’s arms you’ll e’er abide!
