..........I'm Not Worthy..........

I'm not worthy of one drop of the blood He shed for me,
But without it there is no way that I can be made free:
     For I've wandered off in sin,
     Cast my lot with wicked men,
But, thank God for the One who gave His life on Calvary!
I've been washed clean in the blood that Jesus shed on the tree.

I remember how I felt when my sins were washed away,
I never thought that I would ever my Savior betray;
     But in time, I turned aside,
     And the Savior I denied,
I decided to pursue the low, wretched, sinful way,
I knew I should return, but I decided to delay.

I grew footsore and weary as I walked on in my sin,
How I longed for a respite from the loneliness within,
     Stull I softened not my heart,
     From sin I would not depart,
I refused to repent and leave the wicked paths of men,
I don't know what I was thinking or what I hoped to win.

Then the thought of the cross at long last moved me to my knees,
And I returned to the Savior Who alone from sin frees:
     My heart was bathed in the flood
     Of the Savior's precious blood,
I now live life with a purpose:  Each day Jesus to please.
There is no hope in any other -- for He alone frees.

I stood condemned because of the choices that I had made,
I was tossed to and fro by the storms of life and afraid;
     His grace gave me life anew,
     And it can give life to you!
I received from Him the gift when the Gospel I obeyed,
I now thank God for the Cross where the price for me was paid!

Won't you in loving submission obey His blest command?
It is not all that difficult for us to understand:
     Salvation is His alone,
     For no one else could atone;
To the lost of the world He lovingly holds forth His hand
And beckons to us, Come sinners, Come join me in that land.

I could never undo all the wrong things that I have done,
As for credentials for glory, I tell you, I have none;
     On the cross He took my place,
     So, you see, it is by grace
That I'm given an invitation from God's precious Son,
So I'll walk in His service until Heaven has begun.
