Enon News for November 29, 2001!

Volume I Number 12

*******************************************************

Greetings!  I hope your Thursday is going well.  Let's get to the summary of last evening's Bible Class.

Wilburn Roney led the first song and Jesse Brown worded the first prayer.  Tim Smith taught the class in the auditorium, using the prepared material on Psalm 83.  New material for both the Wednesday Evening and Sunday Morning Adult classes was prepared and handed out.  The Calendar for December was also distributed.

Following the classes, Alex White led the singing (he did a very good job)!  Tim Smith read the scripture -- Proverbs 10:12-18.  Glenn Russell did a very good job on the invitation, discussing the importance of a "regular maintenance program" for the soul, using the illustration of such programs in connection with air conditioners, automobiles, etc.  His point was well made.  Tim Smith made the announcements.  Gary Wolfe dismissed us.
The sick list, as it was read last evening, follows:

Nursing Home Residents:  Mary Elmore, Alberta Roney, Red Ballard.

Sick:  Jerri Bowen, Julie Bowen, Luneal Russell, Winifred Capps, Bertha Johnson, EThell Kilgore (he was with us! -- among other things, he has been diagnosed with a gall stone), Callie Kilgore, John Henry Brown (brother Jesse Brown's brother), Angela Killingsworth (she was at work and didn't get off in time to make it), Floyd Turk (he was with us and feeling much better), Ted Epperson, Ethan Wolfe, Hugh and Janie Summerlin, Charlotte Mobley (underwent brain surgery in N.C. on Tuesday of this week), Jack Gott, Jimmy Enfinger (cancer returned), Doran and Norma Deal, and many others.

SYMPATHY:  Our sympathy is expressed to the family of Grady Farmer.  Mr. Farmer passed away this week and graveside services are scheduled for Friday.  The body is at Kent-Thornton.

INVITATION:  Sue Roney announced a reception in honor of Wilburn Roney's 70th birthday!  It is scheduled for 11-09-2001 in the annex from 2:30 - 4:30.  Everyone is invited.

INVITATION:  A birthday reception in honor of Alberta Roney is scheduled for 2:30 P.M. December 15, 2001 at the Nursing Home.  See Freda Smith or Bobby Roney for details.

CARD RECEIVED:  A card was received from the family of Thelma Greenwood (George Blevins' Sister) expressing their appreciation for our prayers etc. in Mrs. Greenwood's recent passing.

The MEN'S BUSINESS MEETING is scheduled for this Sunday at 5:00 P.M. in the Annex.

Visitation Team 1 is scheduled to meet following the worship this Sunday Evening.

The TV Show -- SPEAKING WHERE THE BIBLE SPEAKS -- is scheduled to air Friday at 9:00 A.M. on GRACEBA TOTAL COMMUNICATIONS CABLE 6 in both the Ashford and Dothan Markets.  The Monday showing was terribly messed up by the TV station -- the second time in three weeks, no less!  I trust the situation will be rectified by tomorrow...

We were happy to welcome the Glenn Russell family back!  We missed them on their recent trip, and we also look forward to welcoming the rest of our "out-of-towners" soon!

I suppose that is all.  Have a nice weekend.  Tim
