Volume I Number 5

Greetings!  I hope you are well.  Let's start with the sick list and sick-news from yesterday.  The list, as it was carried to the lectern, is as follows:
Nursing Home Residents:  Mary Elmore, Alberta Roney.
Sick List:  Luneal Russell, Glenn Russell (he is doing better, though still on medication); Sheila Mills (doing much better -- she sent her thanks for the cards etc.); Jack Gott (Freda's dad -- awaiting results from his surgery last week); Winifred Capps (home from the hospital and doing better); Mollie Phillips (moved to a room at SAMC and still recovering from open-heart surgery on Friday of last week); Tammie Phillips (home and doing well); Thelma Greenwood (hospitalized in Arkansas - George Blevins sister); Bertha Johnson; Ruby Carpenter; Steve King; EThell Kilgore (with us for both worship services!); Paul Suggs; Shanda Jones; Scott Downs; Loren Crawford; Wayne Crawford; Merle Whatley; Wilburn Roney, Blondell Cross, and many others.
We add to that list Amy Hutchinson, who is to have tonsil surgery today.  Also, Ernest and Georgia, while on their way to be with her, had car trouble and had to be picked up before reaching their destination.  The whole family remains in our prayers pending the surgery.
Now, on to the summary:
Wilburn Roney led the song before Bible Class, Loren Russell led the prayer, and I taught from Mark 2 and 3.  A. Scourby (via audio tape) read chapter 2 for us, we answered the questions from the lesson, and started the third chapter before time expired.
I made the announcements before the morning worship, Coby Smith did a tremendous job leading singing, Jerry Gant led the first prayer, I presided at the table and was assisted by Gary Wolfe, Lee Wolfe, and Blake Epperson.  I preached on the purpose of the work of Jesus, and Ray Wiehe led the closing prayer.  Though we had several sick and some out of town, with the visitors we had a good crowd!
Singing class went well, with the following leaders:  Tim Smith, Alex White, Chad White, C.J. Smith, Casey Smith, Cody Russell, Rett Russell, Glenn Russell, Jimmy Kilgore, and EThell Kilgore (my apologies if I missed someone).
I made the announcements before the evening worship, Jimmy Kilgore did a very good job leading the singing, George Blevins led the first prayer, I preached on some lessons from Gideon (Judges 6 & 7), Glenn Russell presided at the Lord's Table, and Rob Taylor led the closing prayer.
Visitation Team 1 met last evening following the worship, and the turnout was very good!
All in all, it was a good day!  We enjoyed having Janet Ridgeway's 2 daughters and son-in-law and grandchild as well as Loren Russell yesterday morning!  We enjoyed having Wade Warren and M/M Casey Smith last evening!  Of course, we enjoyed the other visitors also!
Let us remember the TV Show this evening at 7:00 P.M. on Graceba Total Communications Cable 6 -- (Ashford market only this evening)!  The program is entitled, "What do you see in the Cross?"  It originally aired in February of this year.
I guess that is all for now.  Take care and have a good week!  Tim
