Enon News for Monday October 29, 2001

*******************************************************

Greetings!  I hope this note finds you doing well.  We had a pretty good day at Enon yesterday, here is what happened --

The sick list from yesterday is as follows:  Luneal Russell, Sheila Mills; Nathan Suggs (he was with us both times yesterday!); Thelma Greenwood (hospitalized in Arkansas - George Blevins sister -- the news was not good on her condition, and it would seem that she is 'going down'); Bertha Johnson; Ruby Carpenter; Steve King; EThell Kilgore (he was able to be with us yesterday morning, but not last evening -- his doctor in B'ham told him basically that they could do nothing for him; he has appointments set up with a doctor in Jacksonville, FL and New Orleans and I hope that he will be able to get some help from one of them); Paul Suggs; Shanda Jones; Scott Downs; Loren Crawford; Wayne Crawford; Merle Whatley; Wilburn Roney (tests today - 10-29-01); and many others.

Wilburn Roney led the song before class in the auditorium (Down at the Cross), and he led the prayer also.  I taught from Mark 1 and 2 -- we listened to Mark 1 being read on cassette tape by A. Scourby.  I also told the class of purchasing a new biography on Howell Heflin (former AL Senator) and getting the author and the Senator to autograph it.  It seems that the author used to live near here and Bobby Roney even worked for her!  He (Bobby) was seated at the table with her when I arrived at Books-A-Million Saturday.

It was very nice to have Rob and Betty Taylor back!  They had been out of town.  I made announcements before the worship, Jimmy Kilgore led singing, George Blevins led the first prayer, Alex White presided at the Table and Chad White, David Summerlin, and Tim Smith assisted.  I preached on "Ways to a Healthy and Strong Congregation".  Paul Suggs dismissed us with prayer.

Singing Class went well last evening!  We were a bit short on leaders for a while, but it worked out.  It was great to have Lisa Russell and Cody Russell with us!  They had been out of town but returned in time for our singing class and worship.  Glenn and Rett were sick and unable to attend.

I made announcements before the PM worship, and Coby Smith (it was great to have him with us) led the singing.  Alex White led the first prayer, I preached on the Judgment, I also presided at the Table, and Ray Wiehe led the closing prayer.

The TV show -- SPEAKING WHERE THE BIBLE SPEAKS -- is scheduled to air in the Ashford Market this evening at 7:00 P.M. and in both the Dothan and Ashford Markets Friday at 9:00 A.M.  It is an encore presentation (repeat...) from earlier this season, but I failed to write down just which repeat.  I guess I'll have to watch it to see what it is about and then maybe I can tell you about it Thursday morning in our next Enon News report (of course, if you see it this evening I won't need to tell you...) Anyway, that is on Graceba Total Communications Cable 6.

The best of days to you!  Tim
