Enon News for October 25, 2001!

*******************************************************

Greetings, friends, and I hope your Thursday is going well.  It is the anniversary of EThell and Callie Kilgore and we wish them the very happiest!  It is also Nathan Suggs' birthday!

Let's get started with a recap of last evening's assembly.  Wilburn Roney led the song before class, and Alex White worded the first prayer.  I taught the class -- dealing with Psalm 81.  Glenn Russell did a great job leading the singing for the devotional, and I read the scripture (Proverbs 9:1-6).  Paul Suggs was scheduled to extend the invitation but due to the illness of Nathan (see below) he was unable to attend.  I filled in for him and spoke a few minutes about Philippians 4:13 -- "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."  I tried to stress the fact that within each man and woman is the power to make the right decision and do the right thing no matter what the circumstances.  Following the invitation song, I made the announcements and Garry Wolfe worded our closing prayer.

As for the sick --

EThell Kilgore was unable to be with us last evening.  He is scheduled to leave for Birmingham today to undergo tests again tomorrow morning (early).  Our prayers and best wishes go with him.

Paul and Paula Suggs returned from his doctor in LA, where he was told that he would have to come back again in 7 weeks.  When they arrived home, they found that Nathan had a fever of 102.5.  The doctor said that he had an ear infection and prescribed the appropriate medication.  Yesterday morning (Wednesday), however, his fever had again risen to 104.1 and when last I heard from Paul they were trying to get it down to an acceptable level.  They are in our prayers.

Sheila Mills, who used to attend here at Enon, was injured recently in an incident involving her daughter's dog.  Sheila was to feed the animal while her daughter was out of town.  While doing this Saturday, the dog attacked her and did serious damage to her face.  She is currently recovering and may face surgery before it is all over.  Her address is in the directory and any cards would be appreciated.

George and Alyne Blevins were back from Arkansas!  His sister remains in the hospital.

Others were out of town still (but we don't usually mention such things here, lest the information fall into the wrong hands...).  Others were out due to illness or related matters.  Of course, we miss everyone when they are away!

Visitation Team 4 is scheduled to meet this Lord's Day evening.  The TV show tomorrow (Friday) on Graceba Total Communications Cable 6, in both the Ashford and the Dothan markets, is "Perfecting What Is Lacking In Your Faith."  It airs at 9:00 A.M.

I hope you have a great day!  May God Bless You as You Study and Obey His Word.  Tim
