Enon News for Monday October 22, 2001

*******************************************************

Greetings!  I hope your Monday is going well.  We had a good day at Enon yesterday, although the numbers were a bit off (several were sick and several were out of town -- sometimes things like that can't be helped).  Here is what happened --

Wilburn Roney led the song and the prayer before Bible Class yesterday morning, and I taught from Mark 1.  I made announcements before the A.M. worship, Raymond Wiehe led singing, Stan Smith led the first prayer, Glenn Russell was head at the Lord's Table, Blake Epperson, Chad White and I assisted, Doran Deal delivered the sermon (on the subject of "Meekness") and Jimmy Kilgore dismissed us with prayer.  It was good to have brother (EThell) Kilgore with us!  He has been out for some time but we hope he is on the road to recovery.  Willie Pearl Williams was also home from her trip -- we missed her!  George and Alyne Blevins are in Arkansas to be with his sister, Mrs. Thelma Greenwood, as she is undergoing heart surgery today (Monday 10-22).

After the singing class last evening, I made the announcements, Raymond Wiehe led the singing, Glenn Russell led the opening prayer, I preached (a comparison of Christianity to the "great world religions" -- Hindu, Islam, Budda, etc.), Stan Smith officiated at the Table, and Jesse Brown dismissed us with prayer.  Visitation Team 3 met following the worship, and the congregation was invited to the Annex for a period of fellowship and a "finger-food" meal.  Shirley Ingram did a great job as hostess!  Bobby Roney actually led us in singing Happy Birthday to Charlotte Jones!

Let us keep the mid-week Bible Class in mind!  Also, the TV show this evening at 7:00 P.M. on Graceba Total Communications Cable 6 (in the Ashford area only) and Friday at 9:00 A.M. (in both the Ashford and Dothan areas) is "Perfecting What Is Lacking In Your Faith."  We look at 13 points intended to help us to make our faith all that it should be.

The Enon Endeavors have been mailed (USPS) this morning!  Page 2 features a recent Gradowith Poem, Pages 3 and part of 4 feature an article entitled:  What Matters Most???  In it we look at the various issues facing our nation and try to apply them to our lives as individuals.  The bottom of page 4 features something from "Daily Humor".

May God Bless You as You Study and Obey His Word!  Tim
