Enon News
for Thursday January 31, 2002!
Volume 1 Number 27
*******************************************************
Greetings! I
hope you are doing well. Let’s get started with the summaries and then
the announcements from the assembly last evening at Enon –
Wilburn Roney led
the song before class last evening, and he did his usual great job!
Jesse Brown worded a lovely prayer. Tim Smith taught from Psalm 85
(finishing the notes and answering the questions) and we began Psalm 86
and time ran out. We are basically prepared to start afresh with
Psalm 86 next Wednesday evening, Lord willing.
Glenn Russell led
the singing during the devotional period, and he did a great job!
Tim Smith (filling in for Jimmy Kilgore) read the scripture – Proverbs
11:26-31. Tim Smith (filling in for Paul Suggs) gave the invitation.
It was based on the scripture text and had 2 main points – I. That sin
is punished – some in this life (such as the natural results of drunk-driving…)
and some not until eternity; II. That righteousness is rewarded – some
in this life (such as the joy one gets from doing what is right, or the
occasional recognition given a particularly good deed…), and some not until
eternity. We were then encouraged to do what is right at all times.
Jerry Gant worded a very nice closing prayer.
