TV SHOW: MONDAY AT 7:00 P.M. and FRIDAY at 9:00 A.M. on Graceba Total Communications Cable 6.  This week -- THE TRUTH ABOUT TRUTH

Now for the summaries:

Wilburn Roney led the song before class, and he worded the prayer also; they were both well done!  Tim Smith led the discussion based on Psalm 85.  The class discussed, for the better part of the hour, the concept of punishment and reward as they relate to sin and righteousness.  Tim argued that, whereas in Old Testament times God did reward specific deeds of valor with specific blessings and punish specific offences with specific punishments, He no longer does so.  The presence of the prosperity of the wicked and the adversity of the righteous was noted and heavily relied on as proof that sometimes people suffer greatly whose lives are ordered, to the best of their ability, by the Word of God and etc.  All in all, it seemed to be a good class and beneficial.

Stan Smith (filling in for Coby, who was away at college), led the singing, and did his usual great job!  Alex White read the Scripture, Proverbs 11:21-25, and (as usual) he did a very good job.  Tim Smith (filling in for Glenn Russell who had to work late) gave the invitation and Gary Wolfe worded a lovely closing prayer.

We missed those who were unable to be with us due to illness or work or some other reason!  I do hope to see you this Lord’s Day morning.  Watch the TV show Friday at 9:00 A.M. on Graceba Total Communications Cable 6 (in both Dothan and Ashford)!

It has been a busy couple of weeks – and I have had the chance to be with several during their surgeries etc.  Let us check on the sick and remember them in prayer!  Have a good weekend.  May God Bless You as You Study and Obey His Word.  Tim

Special Report -- Bobby Roney Surgery

Greetings.  When I prepared the ENON NEWS earlier this afternoon, the information I gave concerning Bobby's condition was as follows --

(Bobby had his throat stretched at SAMC outpatient this morning, and when I left everything was going well.  He was brought back to the room, talked with us, and wished me a safe trip home...)

All of that is accurate, however when the doctor spoke with Wilburn and Bobby he indicated that Bobby has an ulcer -- very large -- and I took it that it was in his throat.  More surgery will be required.  He is to see the surgeon next Wednesday to schedule the appointment.  The hospital stay is expected to be about 2 days and the recovery time from one week to ten days.

He is doing well and is at home.  His phone number is (334) 899-3594.  When we spoke on the phone just a few minutes ago he was preparing to eat supper.  Let us remember him in our prayers.  Tim

Enon News -- George Blevins Update

Greetings!  I just returned from Flowers Hospital with Alyne Blevins, Betty Hopkins, and others awaiting the results of brother George's surgery.  He was taken to surgery sometime between 9:30 and 10:30 A.M. today. The updates were slow in coming, but each one was relatively encouraging.  At about 2:40 P.M. the nurse, who had been in surgery with him, came to the waiting room to say that he was in the CVICU and that all was well.  They were awaiting the doctor to give them full details shortly.  He should remain in the unit until at least tomorrow, and maybe Thursday.

The phone number to the waiting room where sister Blevins is staying is 1-334-671-9988.  I am unsure how long she will be there this evening, but that is where she will be as long as he is in the unit.

Should circumstances warrant it, I will update you later.  Have a nice evening!  Tim
