Math 261 (Calculus 1) was the first math class I took at Pierce. I met the most cruel and unusual teacher/robot/machine...At the beginning of the class, about 60 people were in class..and at the end, only 7 people took the finals... so if my math is correct, 7/60=11.67% of the class passed, (or at least 11.67% of the class took the finals)..Guess what happened to the other 88.33% of the class?? Dat's right..they either dropped or suffered mental damage to their brains because of the teacher's cruel and unusual ways..I again won't mention the teacher's name..I got my first "W" <-(Hopefully the first and last).

In this class, I also met another smart guy..I don't know how to spell his name, but it was Shinweed or Chickwead..or something like that....sorry about the mispelling...He was one of the 7 people that survived her class to the final 7..Congratulations!!!<--He told me later on that the teacher gave him a B. I think he told me 2 or 3 people actually received an "A" in that class.

I don't know...I thought I knew Calculus, but turned out I didn't :(..So about 2 or 3 or 4 weeks before the finals, I dropped and got myself the W.. Before I dropped, I had a conversation with the teacher, and was 2% away from a C. But from the way the teacher has been grading our tests, and quizzes, I knew I wouldn't get the C..and I didn't wanna traumatize myself with his/her wickedness. I took 5 classes at the time, and after I dropped that class, I was so relief, that I got A's in all 4 of my other classes, and made the Dean's List with a 4.0 GPA in my first Semester at Pierce...Of Course the 4.0 didn't stand cuz I would later on get B's and C's in my other classes..

Last Note about the teacher..."S/He was so discouraging..I think if he/she had it his/her way, he/she would fail every single one of us..but to keep his/her job, he/she had to pass over 10 percent of the students...I got my first "W" in that class.. :( (Again, hopefully first and last "W").

So I retook Math 261 in winter, 4 weeks section and ended up with a B... First day I walk into class, I was 2-3 hours early, then another girl came in right after me..Her name was Sadia..We started talking cuz we knew we had about 2-3 hours to go before the class starts..I learned about her culture and her home land from the 2 hours of talking...she was very very friendly..I also met a very funny girl named Jennifer, she was coooooo..she was in High School at the time, and will be attending Pierce in Fall of 2002..I think.. and I met the third Thai guy in Pierce..First was P'Leon, then his friend, then him..I didn't know he was Thai until the 2nd week of class..His name is Pup..He's cooooo too..Hesham (Smart Kid) was also in that class, and guess what he got???(Of course, he got the "A"). I also met a nice lady named Teresa was a lady that always asked me how to do certain problems...so when I can answer her, I always feel very very smart..:)..The teacher was very good..His name was Tishler, he knew his stuff, and he could relate to the students, I missed out an A by a couple percentage points, but I was just relief that I passed math 261.

This class was actually fun.. Pup, Hesham, Jennifer, Teresa, and Sadia <--Those people made the class very entertaining and fun for me...
