I took English 101 in Winter of 2002 at Pierce. It was a 4 week class, so I was looking forward to an easy time with not that much paper. I had Nancy Nievens (Old Sweetwater band leading singer) for my professor. I was a big fan...so she calls me "Phan" in class :)..Its short for Phanit ..

I learned a lot of stuff in that class. I learned about grammar, thesis, fragments, paraphrase, quoting, chicago, MLA, and little useful stuff, and what I can, can't, should, shouldn't do on a paper...I met Christina and Sam in that class..Sam was actually in my english 28 class but I didn't get to know him until we were in the 101 class..Christina was very good at grammar and stuff..<--In English..She helped me a lot through that class. She actually almost got a perfect score on one of her test and I got about 20 of the 50 questions right...Even then..I still ended up with an "A"..:)hah..go figure..

We did about 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 papers.. And so it was like doing papers every 2 or 3 days. Every paper was fine..First paper I got a C..:( Then I was just hoping for a C in that class..so I started doing my paper better..I don't know how, but I didn't do anything that I did in English 28..I kinda figured what the teacher likes to see on a paper..so I started doing them and got A's on the rest of the papers....On the final day..after I had taken a Calculus finals, I had to go home and do a 10 page paper and a take home finals test in class..So I actually didn't sleep at all :(I did 13 pages of paper in 1 night.. and next day I wanted to throw up so bad..But I guess the "A" was worth it...Now I don't worry about any papers at all...and I don't start them until they're due..cuz I know I can finish up to 13 pages in a day..and usually they don't asked for more than 5-6 pages anyways..

This is also one of my proudest "A"..I mean..how many people can say they aced English 101?? This class gave me my first "ALL NIGHTER"...
