GSC Meetings:

The GSC meetings are usually on the first Monday of the month at 5 PM in the graduate student lounge in building 10 by the cafe. The meeting are open to everyone. For more information, please contact Reid Prentice ( [email protected]) or Nat Brittain ( [email protected]).

  1. Update on Grad Student Symposium 2004
    1. Oral presentations: no announcement at this point
      • Reid, Anthony & Nat will follow-up via e-mail, meet with R McGee/M DeLong
    2. Distinguished Mentor Award
      • Will GSC member give foreword?
      • Will student submitting nomination present award to mentor? � Reid will follow-up via e-mail to R McGee/M DeLong
      • Award point tally by Tuesday, April 6, 2004 � forward to R McGee/M DeLong
  2. Post-Symposium Party @ Cloisters
    • Catering � logistics
    • Do we need an estimate of people attending? Will there be a cost to attendees? Venue capacity considerations � Nat Brittain will follow-up with R McGee/M DeLong
    • Clean-up & set-up volunteers needed � Rima Adler
  3. Housing for Visiting Students: has this been arranged? � Reid will follow-up
  4. Big Siblings: Review after first year
    • Reid will compose questionnaire to gauge successes/failures of mentoring program
    • Time to recruit new mentors for 2004/2005 incoming class from current student body
