Born To Be Unwanted

Distance makes it easier
to turn aside their pain.
Innocent victims of
malignant rage.
Fragile little souls,
shriveled with neglect.
Beaten, bloodied bodies
often too near death.
Imagination can not
capture, what
sad creatures they are.
Born to be unwanted;
Tortured, betrayed
and discarded by
those entrusted with
their keep.
