What are we about???
Many people are starting to say that there are many different ways to get into Heaven. Some say you just have to be a good person, some say you need to do good things, others say you just have to go to church. With all these ideas, how do we know what the truth is??? As our society changes and more philosophies abound, it is important for us to hold on to the truths found in the Word of God. Since we did not create Heaven, we don't get to decide who or how someone can get there. God created, therefore, God gets to decide. In God's Word to man (the Bible) we see Ephesians 2:8-9 which states: "For it is by grace you have be saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." Here we see God telling us it is only by His grace and through our faith that we are saved. Well, what does that mean? God's grace can be found in the act of Him sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross to forgive mankind of their sin. Mankind's sins were, and are, a betrayal of God. God gives us commands and ways to live our lives throughout the Bible and when we live our lives contrary to what He commands, that is sin. So by God sending Christ to die for our sins, that was his act of mercy. Does this mean all of mankind is saved??? The verses above state that it is "by grace you have been saved, through faith." God's grace IS extended to all of mankind, no matter if one has sinned once in their life - like you I'm sure!!! ;) - or if they have sinned thousands of times - like the rest of us!!! However, the difference is in the faith. What is faith??? Faith is complete trust that something is true. Therefore, Jesus dying on the cross doesn't save everyone, it just gives the opportunity for everyone to be saved. We must have faith that Christ died on the cross for our sins. This is why the last part of those verses say "it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." Christ dying on the cross was a great gift and God wanted us to know in this verse that we cannot be saved, no matter how much good we do, unless we put our faith in Him. Some other verses to consider: John 3:3: - "In reply Jesus declared. "I tell you the truth, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again." John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Romans 10:9-10: "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Titus 3:4-7: "But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we have done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life."
Since this is what we believe, that God's grace is for all mankind, we believe that everyone has the right to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is why our name is Epidemic. If you noticed in the picture on the previous site, the definition of Epidemic is to affect a population and that is our goal; to affect Milford High School, and any other school represented, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Come join us!!!
