I hope to spawn Kingsley and Snow Pea somewhere around the 1st or 2nd of October. Although Snow Pea is an Opaque, I expect mostly steels, as she is a steel geno. Kingsley is a steel male and Snow Pea is an opaque female.
UPDATE! Due to contamination in the tank that was not cleaned out as well as I had thought, my pair became ill and had to be removed from the tank. They are back together now in a new, unused tank. Unfortunately, however, Kingsley seems to be more interested in flaring at himself in the glass then he is in flaring at her, although he will once in a while. Ah, gotta love those fish. They have a mind of their own, don't they?
UPDATE! Well, unfortunately Kingsley just didn't seem interested. He only chased Snow Pea when she came near him, but he was more interested in trying to scare off his own reflection in the glass. So I took Kingsley out and put Finley, a pastel, in. They are actually interested in each other, and I see more interest in Snow Pea on Finley's part then in his own reflection..lol. In fact, they may be spawning. I'm not sure, I'm seeing them pick things off the bottom and bringing them to the top. I haven't (yet) seen an embrace, however, so I'm not sure if it's eggs and I'm missing the embrace or not. There's not much of a bubblenest, but Finley may not build that until they're done and Snow Pea is out of the tank. I'll put an update up as soon as I know what's going on. This may be a spawn. I hope so. I hope it's not a false alarm. lol
UPDATE! Okay after losing some fish and having no spawns, I have no spawns planned at this point. I mean, I do plan to spawn, I just don't know when or with what pair. |
