This is Elsie. She is a one year old 3/4 border collie 1/4 blue heeler mix who came to us because her former owner wanted her put to sleep becuase she was killing his chickens.
She came to us as a foster, but she quickly bonded both with Scooter, and with me...the white dog (though sometimes she just really bugs me). So now she is part of the family.
When she came to us she was recovering from a broken leg that hadn't been set properly. Due to the low success rate and high cost of the surgery she would need to correct this leg we opted to let it heal on it's own, and after a month's crate confinement you cannot tell that she ever had a limp. We fear that glucosamine suppliments will be in her future before too long though. |
