While I was running the Dublin Marathon this year I started to feel exhausted after several miles. I was running the race to raise money for the Grant-a-wish Foundation, a wonderful organization that provides support for children with life-threatening illnesses. Grace had received several "wishes" from this organization. I thought of Grace while I was starting to feel discouraged during the run. I immediately got a picture of Grace being held by one of her parents. She had one arm around her parent's shoulder ( I am not sure whether it was Dan or Megan) and her other arm was waving at me. She was saying "Go Uncle Chris go". I felt an overwhelming rush of emotion and a surge of energy. Grace was always positive. She never complained. She helped me finish the race and made it that much more special to me. As anyone who ever met Grace knows she was quite a character. She touched everyone she met including me. Grace's short time spent on the earth made it a better place. I will never forget her.
