Kenshin Himura was a skilled fighter and an ex  samurai.  His  life     was dawned by tragedy since childhood. During the war or the Bakumatsu era, his parents were killed. He then was given foster parents to take care of him,  but  unfortunately, they too became victims of the war. Kenshin, who was known as Shinta at   that  time, was also about to be killes when Seijuro Hiko took pity  on   him and   saved his    life. Seijuro then became his master and mentor teaching him  the   sword    technique  or Hitenmitsurugi (the flying sword to heaven). His name was also changed  to   Kenshin, "Ken" referring to a long sword and "Shine" which means soul of   the   heart.   Thus symbolizing him as the "Soul of the Sword".  Mastering the sword technique gave him an edged among the samurai's making him known  as  a   skilled    fighter    therefore earning the name Hitokiri Battousai. At that time Japan was in chaos, and to help  the government, he became an assassin. His hands and sword were stained with the   blood
of the many people he killed. When the Meiji era began and  a   new   government   is being established, Kenshin decided to turn his backs on the  ways  of   a    slasher   and became a wanderer. He vowed never to kill again thus, he  carried  in   him a  reverse-edged sword. But still many wants him dead, specially those who wanted   revenge.   In
the start of his new life with his newfound friends, Kenshin tried to make a change  in his life making another chapter in his endless journey to find peace,  happiness      and contentment......
