| Hitomi is the heroine in this story. She is a high school student who was transported to Gaea by a pillar of blue light. Back on earth, she is known by her classmates as a sort of fortune teller , whose predictions usually come true. This power became more accurate and intense in Gaea. She would usually have premonitions on what would happen in the future which helps Van and the others to counter the enemy's attacks. She has also the power to know what what happened in the past. This led Zaibach's emperor to have her capture but it usually fails. Hitomi is Van and Allen's love interest in this anime. |

When Escaflowne was damaged during the fight, he paid the money for its repair and gave Van and the others refuge in his ship. Dryden helped them uncover the mysteries written in the journal of Allen's father to find the mystic valley. After marrying Millerna, he took the place of King Aston to help rebuild Asturia from the wreckage caused by the war. But in the end, he returned the wedding ring to Millerna giving her the freedom again but promising her that he would return, and will be at that time, a deserving man for her. |
