| Chichiri first appeared to Miaka when she was being attacked by the Kutou assassins. He saved Miaka by hiding her in his straw hat which has the power of transporting a person to other places. He is the fourth of the Suzaku Seishi that Miaka came upon. Chichiri is the most clever of all the Seishi. He knows how to handle things in |
| right way and how to exactly solve their problems. Because of his smiling mask worn over his face, his expression is always happy although sometimes he felt the other way around. The reason behind this mask is a tragic past of Chichiri. He once had a bestfriend named Hikou and a fiancee named Kouran. They all are good friends until the day when Chichiri caught his fiancee and bestfriend kissing. Kouran then told him that she could never marry him now since another man had kissed her. Because of this , Chichiri challenged Hikou to a fight wherein one of them must die . He won the battle and killed his bestfriend but regretted what he had done afterwards. He now lost his bestfriend and felt sorry for what he did, but he couldn't do anything to bring Hikou's life back again. During the battle, Chichiri was wounded obtaining a scar on his face. It was so ugly that he decided to cover his face with a mask. After the incident, he went to live at Mount Taikyoku where he trained for three years under Taiitsu-kun. All of the pain that he went through has finally healed as he find himself in the company of the other Suzaku Seishi who cares and loves him. Now the only thing that he must do is to protect the Suzaku No Miko which Chichiri wholeheartedly accepted. |
