Deities and Faeries

When calling quarters or the divine you may wish to use some of these; there are many more but here is an idea.
Celtic
Lug - A sun god and hero. Young, strong, Master of skills, craft and arts.Was identified with mercury by the Romans.
Brighid - Goddes of healing and craftsmanship. Patron of learning and Poetry. Knowledge and inspiration.
Egyptian
Anubis - Jackal-headed god. Magic and divination. Supervises judgement in the hall of the dead.
Bast - Cat-headed goddess. Joy, music and dancing. Symbol of animal passion.
Thoth - God of wisdom, music, magic, medicine, astronomy, geometry, surveying, art & writing. Judge & scribe.
Sobek - Crocodile headed god, controlled the water.
Seth - God of desert and storms.
Re - Sun god, and creator.
Horus - falcon headed god, looked after the pharaoh.
Sekhmet - lioness goddess of war.
Hathor - Cow horned goddess of love, beauty and pleasure.
Isis - Care of women and children.
Bes - Dwarf god, protector of happiness and the family.
Nut - Goddess of the sky.
Geb - The earth god.
Roman
Vesta - Goddess of fire and hearth.
Janus - House god, two headed to see people leaving and entering a household.
Diana - Goddess of fertility and hunting. She is often used in craft rituals.
Jupiter - Sky god and king of the gods.
Mars - God of war.
Mercury - God of communication, thought and travel.
Neptune - God of water and the seas.
Pluto - God of the underworld and wealth.
Venus - Goddess of love, sexuality and beauty.
Ceres - Goddess of the harvest.
Some of these look familar to you? Roman and Greek gods are very similar in meaning. The following are some which are described in much the same way as each, (name order: roman then greek) Ceres - Demeter. Jupiter - Zeus. Mercury - Hermes. Neptune - Poseidon. Pluto - Hades. Venus - Aphrodite.
Greek
Apollo - God of healing and the arts. Young and Handsome.
Athena - Goddess of wisdom. Serious and beautiful.
Demeter - Goddess of the harvest.
Aphrodite - Goddess of fertility, love and beauty. Water.
Artemis - Fertility goddess, maidens, childbirth, moon.
Hermes - messenger. God of luck, travelers, merchants and athletes. Helpful.
Eros - God of sexual attraction.
Gaia - Mother earth.
Hecate - Goddess of magic and the moon.
Poseidon - God of water and the seas.
Zeus - God of the sky and king of gods.
Dionysus - God of wine and natural instinct.
Pan - God of wild places.
Persephone - Goddess of the harvest and spring.
Norse
Freyr - God of fertility, peace, joy and contentment.
Freyja - Goddess of magic and death, sex.
Thor - God of thunderstorms and the life force.

Faeries

Fire - Salamanders are essential to fire. Their ruler is the deity Djin. Strongest and most powerful elementals.
Water - Undines live in the water, their ruler is the deity Necksa. They love, serve and honor. emotional, friendly and ready to help anyone. Selkies are Undines in the sea.
Air - Sylphs, their leader is Paralda. they are very changable, kind to humans. They help with inspiration to humans.
Earth - Pixies are cheerful and mischievous. Goblins are vicious. Leprechauns are cunning irish fairies. Sidhe are Irish fairiea attracted to beauty. Dwarves are known for stealing property, wives and children. Gnomes are guardians of sacred grounds. they are extremely clever magi.
