This Indenture made this twenty first Day of October in the Year of Our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and sixty three Between William Hudgens of Cumberland County of the one part and Henry Pattillo of the said County of the other part Witnesseth That the said William Hudgens for and in consideration of the Sum of thirty seven pounds ten shillings Current Money to him in hand paid by the said Henry Pattillo the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted sold aliened ____ and confirmed and by these Presents doth grant sell alien ___ confirm unto the said Henry Pattillo and to his heirs forever on Tract or Parcel of Land containing one hundred acres more or less lying in the said County of Cumberland on the Branches of Green Creek and bounded as followeth to wit Beginning at Pointers in Anderson Cockes line and along the same South eighty degrees East one hundred and fifty seven poles to John Butlers line along the same South one hundred and twenty four Poles to Pointer in Aaron Butlers line along the same South eighty Degrees West one hundred and twenty seven Poles to a Pine in Charles Cotterels line along the same North fifty five degrees West thirty Poles to Pointers in William Butlers line thence North one hundred and fifty five Poles to the first Station. Together with all Houses Orchards Gardens Fences Woods Waters and Water Courses with all other appurtenances unto the same belonging to the said Henry Pattillo and to his heirs and Assigns forever To Have and to hold the said Tract of Land with all its appurtenances unto the said Henry Pattillo his heirs and Assigns forever so that it shall and may be lawful for the said Henry Pattillo his heirs or Assigns from this time and at all times hereafter Peaceably to occupy possess and Enjoy the said land and premises with all its appurtenances without let or molestation from the said William Hudgens his Heirs or Assigns or any other Person whatsoever And the said William Hudgens doth further ___ and agree with the said Henry Patillo that __ the said William Hudgens shall and will warrant and forever defend the above sold land and premises unto the said Henry Patillo his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of ___ the said William Hudgens his heirs and assigns and against all other Persons whatsoever. In Withness whereof the said William Hudgens hath here unto set his hand and Seal the Day and Year above written.

This Indenture and the Memorandum of Liver and Seizen and Receipt endorsed were proven by William Holland and William Watts and James Holloway Witnesses thereto and by the Court Ordered to be recorded and Sarah Wife of the above named William Hudgens being first privately examined Relinquished her Right of Dower in and to the Land and Premises conveyed by the said Indenturer.
