John Adair Esq Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky To all to whom these presents
shall come Greetings Know ye that by virtue and in consideration of a Kentucky
Land office warrant No.8800 and 8802 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto
James Dowden a certain tract and parcel of Land containing one hundred acres
By survey bearing date the eleventh day of September one thousand eight hundred and
twenty two Lying and being in the County of Madison on the waters of Silver Creek and
bounded as followeth To wit Beginning at a red oak black gum hickory and dogwood corner
to Bushes Survey of 130 acres also corner to William Bentleys survey of
130 acres thence South fifty two East Twenty eight poles to a white oak tree thence
South sixty six East sixty two poles to a large black walnut and buckeye thence East
thirty four poles to three lynns thence North fifty five East sixty two poles to a
large black walnut fifty six poles to a large white oak tree thence North forty eight
poles passing a beech and sugartree at 24 poles to a stake thence North seventy West one
hundred and fifty eight poles to a white oak tree to a white oak tree marked K.C. thence
West forty eight poles to two white oaks on the side of a Kurby in a monstrous Reef
thence South twenty two East one hundred poles to the Beginning
with its apputenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land
with its appurtenances to the said James Dowden and his heirs forever In witness whereof the
said John Adair Esq Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hath hereunto set his hand
and caused the seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Frankfort on the third day
of September the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three and
of the Commonwealth the thirty second
