John Adair Esq Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky To all to whom these presents shall come Greetings Know ye that by virtue and in consideration of a Kentucky Land office warrants No.8438 and 8801 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto John Hooten and James Dowden a certain tract or parcel of Land containing one hundred acres by survey bearing date the Tenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and twenty two Lying and being in the County of Madison on the waters of Silver Creek and bounded as followeth To wit Beginning at a sassafras maple and dogwood corner to William Bushes survey of 220 acres and in a line of his survey of 2650 acres thence with the line of the 2650 acre survey North forty five West thirty poles to his corner at two red oak trees thence with another of his lines West fifty six poles to a white oak his corner thence with another of his lines South forty five West one hundred and sixteen poles to a white oak tree his corner thence with another of his lines South two and one half East eighty poles to a white oak black gum and dead dogwood corner to John [Hosts?] Survey of 50 acres assee of James Cummins thence with his lines S28 East eighty six poles to a black oak and hickory his corner thence with another of his lines South fifty East ninety poles to two white oaks and hickory his corner thence with another of his lines South fifteen East twenty six poles to a black walnut and white oak his corner thence another of his lines South forty West seventy two poles to his corner a black walnut elm and hickory on the top of a ridge near an old Indian Grave thence a new line South five East fifty poles to three white oaks and a dogwood corner to a Survey of Francis Reynolds of 100 acres also corner to a survey of James Dowden assee of James Cummins thence with Dowden line North eighty five East fifty four poles to a sugartree and ash on a line of the 220 acre Survey thence with a line of the same North twenty eight poles to the corner a chesnut oak thence with another line of the same survey North five East sixty poles to the corner an ash tree thence with another line of the same survey North forty five West twenty six poles to the corner a bunch of lynns thence with another line of said Survey North fifteen East one hundred and forty poles to the Beginning with its apputenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said John Hooten and James Dowden and their heirs forever In witness whereof the said John Adair Esq Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hath hereunto set his hand and caused the seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Frankfort on the third day of September In the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three and of the Commonwealth the thirty second.
