Gabriel Slaughter Esq Lieutenant Governor and acting Governor of the
Commonwealth of Kentucky To all to whom these presents
shall come Greetings Know ye that by virtue and in consideration of a Kentucky
Land office warrant No. 1360 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto James Dowden
assee of James Cummins assee of Joseph Miller and Joseph Ballew
a certain tract or parcel of Land containing fifty acres by survey bearing date the
Nineth day of April one thousand eight hundred and Eighteen lying and being in the
County of Madison on the waters of Silver Creek and bounded as followeth To wit
Beginning at a poplar on the East side of a small branch and dogwood pointer thence
South fifteen East ninety poles to a large chesnut tree and two hickorys on the
side of a ridge thence South seventy five West forty four poles to two chesnut oaks
on the top of a ridge thence North seventy six West fifty five poles to three
white oaks on the side of a ridge near a clift of rocks thence North fifteen West seventy two poles
to a dogwood and three white poles thence North eighty five East ninety poles to the
Beginning with its apputenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land
with its appurtenances to the said James Dowden and his heirs forever In witness whereof the
said Gabriel Slaughter Esq Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hath hereunto set his hand
and caused the seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Frankfort on the nineth day
of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen and the
Commonwealth the twenty eighth
