To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting:

KNOW YE, That by virtue and in consideration of a warrant of the Rockcastle
County Court, there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto George Higganbottom


a certain tract or parcel of Land, containing five hundred         Acres, by
survey, bearing date the 28th      day of April      one thousand eight hundred
and thirty eight            lying and being in the County of Rockcastle
on the Head waters of Roundstone and copper Creek Bordering on the County line Beginning at two small sourwoods Standing in Cook Gap of the dividing ridge between the water of the Kentucky River and that of Cumberland and at the head of Roundstone fork thence N85E38 poles to a pine and double maple on the side of a hill thence S10E66 poles to two black gums by a branch thence S45E50 poles to a white oak and dogwood thence S65E20 poles to a white oak corner to a Survey made for John Patterson thence with one of his lines S20W14 poles crossing a branch thence S35 E34 poles to a white oak and dogwood thence S62E45 poles to a white oak near South Bank of Roundstone Creek thence S28W24 poles to two Chesnut oaks and white oak on the top of a narrow ridge thence S25W100 poles to a chesnut oak on a ridge thence S70W160 poles to two small guns white oak and pine on the Bank of Copper Creek N15W72 poles N65W33 poles to two hickories at the head of the main prong of the Creek and standing on the aforesaid dividing ridge in the County line thence with the different meanderings on the Ridge and County Line to the Beginning




With its appurtienances: To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said
George Higganbottom




and his heirs forever.
