This Indenture Witness with that Elizabeth McSwaine of
Baltimore County and Province of Maryland Spinster ___ put her Son David MacSwaine
aged seven years and six months
and those ___ doth Voluntarly and of her Born free
will and accord, put him the said
|
David aforesaid to Thomas Felps and
Rose his wife for the Consideration of one new suit of Duroys (see below), that
is to say, Coat vest and britches and pair of new shoes and stockings, two Dowley shirts
of new linen and one half of Twelve Shillings ___ and further doth agree to and with
the said Elizabeth that he will give ___ to begiven to the said David
learning Sufficient to read the holy Bible through Distinctly, and after the manner of a servant to
Serve ___ the said Thomas Felps and Rosa his wife from this of Date ___ and during
this time until he the said David Shall Attain to the year of one and Twenty
year During all which time the said David his said Master and Mistress faithfully
Shall Serve his ___ ___ his lawful Commands gladly every whote obey he shall doth make Damage
to his said Master nor see it done by others without letting or giveing notus ___ of
to his said Master he shall not at any ___ gaimes befounded to play, whereby his said
Master may have ___ Damage with his own goods nor the goods of Others, without leave of
from his said Master, he shall not committ fornication nor [enter] Matramoney without his said
Masters leave, But in all things ___ have himself as faithfull servant Ought
to do during the said Term, and the said Master shall provide for the said Servant suffice meat
Drink ___ ___ and Lodging according to the Customs of the Country during the said Term
and for the true performance of all and every the said Convenants and Agreements ___ of this
___ bind themselves unto each other by those events In Witness whereof they have put their
hand and seals this 26th day of September 1741

same Elizabeth McSwaine and Thomas Felps before me the Subscriber
and his Lordships Justices for Baltimore County ___ lodged the ___ Indenture to be
