"Catherine!" Gil called into the forest with Sara just behind him.
Sara ran ahead a little bit and called out her name a few times.
"I'm over here, can't a girl pee in private!" Catherine yelled back and Sara laughed.
"I found her Grissom, she was going pee. Let's go back and see how Greg is doing" Sara said as Catherine followed them back to the Tahoe.
"Any luck Greggo?" Catherine asked as she leaned against the Tahoe.
"None yet," Greg said and then a transport stopped on the side of the road. The driver got out and walked over towards them.
"You guys need any help?" he asked with a heavy Texan accent.
"Yes, we need some gas, how far is the next gas station?" Gil asked.
"About 20 minutes from here, I can bring one of you there and my buddy Darrin will drive you back here if you would like?"
"I'll go" Catherine volunteered.
"Oh no you won't! We'll both go!" Gil said walking up to Catherine.
"Don't worry Gil, I'm a big girl I can protect myself. Plus those 2 need a babysitter before they find a new us for the hood of the truck or even worse the backseat since we have to sit back there okay? I'll see you in a few" Catherine reassured her husband and gave him a kiss.
"Bye guys and be good for Grissom" Catherine called out to Greg and Sara. They smiled and laughed.
"Yes mother" They replied and Catherine laughed,
The driver helped Catherine up into the truck and he went around over to the drivers side. She waved from her spot to her friends. They drove off down the highway. Sara, Gil and Greg had nothing to do but wait.
Catherine was dropped off at an Esso station 20 minutes later but the drier named Bill. They had a pleasant talk the way there and he wasn't scary at all. She thanked him and went into the gas station. She was now in a dilemma what type of gas did Sara's Tahoe take was it diesel or regular?
Gil, Sara, and Greg were playing the card game 'cheat' as they were waiting for Catherine to come back with the gas. Gil was more worried about Catherine then them having no more food or gas.
"Don't worry Grissom, Catherine will be alright she's very smart and independent" Sara replied and put down a king and an eight hoping Gil wouldn't catch that.
"Your right Sara and you cheated that time" Gil smiled as Sara picked up the pile of cards.
Catherine couldn't decide so she bought a jug of each. She was up at the counter when she realized she left her money and purse in the Tahoe.
"Crumb" she mumbled
"It's alright I'll pay for you" the man behind her said and gave the lady the money. Catherine turned around to thank the man and recognized the man.
"Brian?" Catherine asked.
"Catherine? You look like crap what's happened? And why are you buying gas?" Sheriff Mobley asked as he carried a jug for her.
"Long story Brian, but could you give me a ride back to Sara's Tahoe that is if you're heading back to Vegas?" Catherine asked
"Of course, hop in"
Twenty minutes later Brian stopped on the other side of the road across from the stranded Tahoe. They couldn't see the others because they were on the other side of the car shielded from the sun. Catherine thanked Brian for the ride and ran across the open highway with both jugs of gas in her hands. She found them sitting on the ground playing cards.
"Hey guys! Did you miss me?" Catherine announced. Everyone looked up and saw Catherine standing there with 2 jugs of gas.
"Catherine!" the all yelled in unison. "Thank god your back I think we needed to baby sit Mr. Worry Wart more than he needed to baby sit us" Greg added. Catherine laughed and gave her husband a kiss.
"I got diesel and regular because I wasn't sure what your truck took?" Catherine said.
"Well it's diesel incase this ever happens to us again. How did you pay for all of this? Your purse and money is still here?" Sara answered as she poured the gas into her gas tank.
"Let's just say an old friend helped me out" Catherine laughed and then smiled.
"Well she's filled and ready to hit the road again!"
"You bet, let's look for a place to stay for tonight before we do anything else" Gil suggested.
"I agree to that," Greg said and they all piled back into the Tahoe and Sara started her up. She purred like a kitten and off they went back on the highway.
