| Chapter 7
Everyone had left a few hours ago, leaving me to the silence of the room. I sat there still holding onto Dillon with my forehead resting on the bed by our joined hands. There was nothing that I, or anyone else could do right now, so I just remembered all of the wonderful times that Dillon and I had shared. Flashback "Dillon, where are you taking me?" I asked as I sat in the passenger seat of what I was sure was Ned's car. "Ok, if I haven't told you yet, do you really think I'm going to tell you now?" Dillon laughed as he looked at me briefly before returning his concentration to the road. It was a beautiful, but very cold December night, and Christmas was only a week away. Snow was lightly falling to the ground outside. The heater in the car was on high but I still couldn't get warm. Dillon reached behind his seat and grabbed a small blanket and tossed it to me, in which I wrapped it around me, pulling my knees to my chest trying to keep every bit of my body heat in. It was a little after 11 on a Friday night. Mac was away until Tuesday on a trip to a convention on behalf of the PCPD, and Maxie and Kyle were out somewhere in Port Charles doing lord knows what. Dillon, Maxie and Kyle had all graduated last year and I was now in my junior year. Even though we didn't get to see each other everyday at school, Dillon made it a point to meet me for breakfast in the mornings before school and after to take me home. Right now, though, I didn't have a clue as to where we were, but I did know that we had left Port Charles a long time ago. "Are we there yet?" I whinned in a childish voice as I rested my head on my knees, giggling. "Indeed we are, my lady. Look!" Dillon said as he pulled the car to a stop and pointed out my window. I turned my head and was blown away at what I saw. The most gorgeous cottage I had ever seen was lit with tons of white lights. All the lights inside were on and smoke was barreling out of the chimney from what obviously was a fireplace, inside. It looked like it belonged on the cover of a magazine "Dillon, what is this?" I asked as I turned back to him. "This," he said motioning to the cottage "is where we are going to have the perfect weekend. It is a cottage that my mom owns and seemed to have forgotten about." He said as he got out of the car and came around and opened my door helping me out. My foot hit a patch of ice as I stood up but Dillon steadied me with his arm around my waist. "Walk much, slick?" He teased as I lightly smacked his hand that was on my hip. "This is so wonderful, but how am I going to explain all of this to Mac?" I asked as we reached the door and Dillon unlocked it holding the door for me so I could enter the warm, apple-cinnamon cented livingroom. "You underestimate my abilities." He said as he grabbed at his chest like he was hurt. "I made a deal with Maxie." He said as he shut the front door and walked towards me. "How did you manage that?" I asked as I snuck my arms into his unzipped jacket and hugged myself close to him feeling the warmth coming from him. I rested my head on his chest waiting for him to continue. "That was easy. I told her that if she covered for you, then she would get the whole house to herself. In which she agreed and said that she would just tell Mac you were in the shower when he called." He said as he pulled my toboggan off my head and ran his hands threw my hair. "I think he might get suspicious when I am in the shower every time he calls." I said matter-of-factly as I looked up at him. "She's going to call you and then you'll just call him from your cell. Don't worry." He said as he kissed the tip of my nose before he pulled away and took his jacket off and hung it on the coat rack by the door. He hung mine up and then gave me a 'tour' of the cottage. It was cozy with one bedroom, a den-like livingroom with a fireplace, a small kitchen and a little dinning room that had been converted into a small room that held a beautiful ever-green christmas tree decorated in all-white lights and ornaments. "I'll go get our bags from the car." He said as he pulled his coat back on and headed back out side. I walked back over to the christmas tree and noticed french doors behind it. I walked over and opened them up revealing a small wooden balcony made of beautiful, deep red cherry wood with lights all around it, casting it in a soft glow as it over-looked a solid sheet of ice that had once been a lake before the winter cold hit. I leaned against the railing and looked out at the surroundings, noticing how bright the stars were and how quiet everything was. All that could be heard was the occasional animal calling out or the wind rushing through the trees. It was really cold and the snow continued to fall lightly around me but I couldn't get myself to go back inside. It was too beautiful. "I thought I might find you out here." Dillon said as he came up behind me and rested his arms on either side of me, on the railing, as I leaned back against him. "Beautiful isn't it?" He asked as he rested his chin on my shoulder before lightly kissing my neck. "Yes it is." I said as I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck, trying to close any gap between us. Dillon realized how cold I was and pulled me close wrapping his jacket around me, enclosing me inside the jacket with him. I tried to hide the yawn that was threatening to come out but I was unsuccessful. "Tired?" He asked as he held my head in his hands and looked in my eyes. "I am really sorry, I know you probably had this all planned out, but I can barely keep my eyes open." I said as I twirled his short hair between my fingers, playing with the hair on he back of his neck.. "Are you kidding, I am exhausted." He said as he pulled me back into the cottage. He handed me my bag and I went into the bathroom and changed into my pajamas which consisted of flannel bottoms, a tank top and a hoodie of Dillon's. I pulled my hair into a sloppy ponytail, washed my face, brushed my hair and teeth and was done. Luckily I had taken a shower after I got home from school earlier today. I walked into the bedroom only to find Dillon fast asleep on top of the covers. I don't know how he did it, but he managed to stay warm in nothing but pajama pants while I was in pajama pants, tank top and a sweatshirt, freezing. Dillon and I had never made love or even slept in the same bed, but I felt completely comfortable slipping under the covers beside him. He too, got under the covers and wrapped one arm around me and pulled us closer together as he laced his fingers with mine and pulled my into his chest. "Thanks for sleeping with me." He whispered as we both laughed at his comment and the double meaning it could hold. "Thanks for not pressuring me to." I said as I pulled the blankets up around us with my other hand. I snuggled closer to him and seemed to almost form or mold to his body, like we fit perfetly with each other. "I am the happiest guy in the world just being able to go to sleep and wake up with you in my arms. Right now, nothing could be better. We'll both know when it is right, but for right now I just want to hold you while I go to sleep." He said sounding like he would fall asleep at any second. "Goodnight, I love you." I whispered. I wasn't even sure if he heard me, until he finally spoke up. "I love you too." He said as he kissed the back of my head and we both got comfortable before succoming to a peaceful dreamless sleep. I was completely comfortable. End of Flashback |
